Movement woke her up. She lay listening closely. She felt another presence. Must be Dinah. She shuddered, the idea of her body being inches away. When she sat up she found not Dinah, but Demitri. He was sound asleep. His curls fell across his forehead. The fire outside was brighter, making it easier to see.

Or was it the fire?

She sat up straighter. Light seeped through the thin material of the tent. Bright light. It seemed almost.. mournful.

She stepped over Demitri carefully. She slipped out the tent to find Dinah curled in the leaves with Demitri's jacket wrapped around her. He wouldn't be wearing that anymore. She glanced around finding the light from inside the tent was coming from the woods.

She set off bare foot toward the source. She thought she heard crying. Deep sobs of anguish. Pain. Her heart ached to find it faster. She sped forward, stepping over fallen limbs and fallen leaves. She worked to make no noise. Soon she was standing under a large oak. The light fell cascading down over her.

She looked up and saw Wolfe leaning back against the tree, his whole body aglow. He was sitting on the highest branch, looking up at the sky. It felt like an intimate moment. She hated to inturrupt like that.

He had tears screaming down his cheeks, his hair was disheveled. He seemed lost in thought.

"Aciel?" She timidly said.

He snapped back into reality, looking down at her.

"Mackenzie?" He wiped the tears away quickly, trying to gain composure.

"What are you doing out here?"

"I woke up because I heard something move....Then I saw your light. Why are you up there?"

He paused looking down at her. Then he fell, she didn't have enough time to scream as he fell over here. Yet surprisingly landing on his feet. He looked down on her thoughfully.

"It's were I like to sleep. Quiet and safe"

"What if you fall?"

He just smiled at her, the irony of the question dawning on her. She blushed glancing down.

"I'm not worried princess."

"I'm not a princess,"

"Oh but I think you are. The daughter of satan himself and what? A helpless rape victim-"

"I wouldn't know. Father never talked about my mother."

"I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine."

He just nodded looking regretful. Scornful.

"What about you Wolfe? Everyone knows me. It seems everyone knows you but me."

"I was the general of the of the entire military."

"Military?" She sounded shocked. He chuckled softly.

"Yes, Heaven had an army of Angel guardians. Guardian angels. The protected everyone. I pretected everyone. I loved my job."

"Well... Why'd you leave? Why'd You fall?"

Things suddenly got tense. She saw Wolfe's muscles visably tighten. Like pain laced him every time she asked him something indrecibly personal. Why was he able to ask her questions but he freaked out when she asked her own.

"I... I don't remember why I fell. I just know. I can never go back. Ever. No matter how much good in this world I do. "

"How do you know?"

He smiled cruelly at her. He lifted his shirt then rolled his pants down an inch. She had the urge to look away as he revealed his perfectly scultpted hips. She gasped as her eyes landed on it. A pitch black mark. It stood out past the other marks. The only different one. To her it looked evil. But she knew it was the mark of the damned.

He rolled his jeans back up dropping his shirt. His face looked grim, carved of stone. Her heart seemed to reach out to him. His story broke her heart. She almsot felt sorry for him. For the first time in her life.

"I see. I'm sorry."

"Don't be it's not like it was your fault."

He laughed softly to himself. She didn't find it as funny.

"It doesn't matter. Let's get back to camp."

She nodded and let him lead the way. The light from his body had dimmed down. Lighting up enough so they could see. They walked in silence until they reached the camp.

Wolfe held his arm out blocking her. If she hadn't mstopped he would have clotheslined her. She went to scold him but was shushed immediantly.

"Dinah's gone." he hissed. When she stood on her tiptoes and looked over his shoulders, she could see the resting plae empty.

"Demitri's gone too."

She laughed blushing "No actually...He's in the tent."

He grimaced, obviously thinking the worst. He started forward in the camp. She wasn't quite sure why he was so afraid. So what if she left, if she died she deserved it.

He scanned the area tracing from where she was laying trying to find a trail.

"It's not the creatures," She called out quietly to him sitting down by the fire "No blood."

He just nodded staring off into the woods. It was quiet all around them, all she could here were Demitri's snores. She had to be honest, they sounded pretty cute.

Then some lunged at her, it drove her to the ground and sat on her chest leaving her defenseless. She screamed in shock. Weight crushing her throat. Adding a tearing pressure to the collar.

"Bitch!" She chocked out.

It was Dinah, the bitch finally flipped her lid. Getting revenge for the black eye.

All at once the weight was off her. Wolfe had pushed her off her. When they hit the ground, in one smooth move he hit her. Once. Twice. Three times. It was a sickening yet thrilling display. The commotion had awake Demitri and he was attempting to escape the tent. He managed just as Wolfe picked her up by the shirt.

"Now I wouldn't advise you to try that shit again. When i said i was done with you I meant it. Which means Your lucky I don't kill you. Right here. Right now."

Dinah was crying with fear and rage.

"I'm going to let you go once more. But if you follow us. If I catch you anywhere around me. I will severe your head from your neck and watch it roll, Just like the mayans would do to their sacrifices."

He threw her, she stumbled hitting a tree. She was crying, her face bleeding and swelling. Wolfe seemed to be shaking with rage again. Mackenzie was trying to catch her breath, Pain seizing her body from the collar. Fresh blood oozed from the wound under neath.

She watched as Dinah dragged herself up and limped off into the woods, whimping like a woumded animal.
