The butterfly danced in a whirl of colour on the clear, blue sky, as if it's iridescent glow of the wings were like fine quills, drawing such vibrant hues on a canvas. Evelyn watched as it curled into the sweetest of swirls above her head, a soft giggle escaping her lips when it rested on her finger tips, the glow of the butterfly's wings intensifying by just a mere touch of her skin.
Releasing the butterfly to flutter it's way back into the air, her eyes followed it's every movement as though it was telling her to follow it. So she did. With every step her feet set on the grass, she let the butterfly take control to where it was taking her.
Pushing past tree branches and bushes, she came to a halt in front of the castle once again, and there the butterfly joined several others in the sky. She smiled in awe, like music for her eyes, moving in a choreographed melody.
She took in her surroundings, this time getting a clear view of where she was. There were no shadows or darkness. It seemed like a place where there was no evil.
Trees that once stalked her were now coated with different colours of fruit. The flowers were scattered like rainbow freckles to adorn the grass, as if light had found a way to blossom so vibrantly.
Skipping happily over to one of the trees, she plucked a plum out of one of the branches, a giddy smile contorted on her lips, ready to take a bite from it.
"I see you are enjoying yourself."
The same voice reached her ears and Evelyn jumped up in surprise, whirling around to face them.
Standing there in a beautiful, long dress, her soft auburn hair tumbled over her shoulders as the light shimmered against it, flowing with her every move. She had eyes that were soft and green as a jewel, they held confidence. She had been graced with a look that could be of royalty.
Bravery. Is what seemed to be the woman's armour as she strode towards Evelyn.
"I– I just wanted to taste it," Evelyn stammered over her words and took slow step backs. Turning around to make a run, she gasped when the woman was now in front of her.
"Woah! How'd you do that? Are you a vampire?" She asked.
"I'm much better." The woman smirked.
"Look, I don't mean any harm. I was hungry," Evelyn raised her hands up.
She took a step forward and Evelyn looked anywhere but her face that seemed to hold no emotions.
