I want to say a huge gigantic thank you to everyone following Rose on her journey! 200 reads is a big deal for me! I appreciate the lovely comments I've received along the way. So without further ado, here's Chapter 6.

"I'd like to apologise, Potts" he said quietly, "I agree to do my best to control my bad behaviour in the future".
I examined his slim figure. His shoulders were slightly hunched forward, sincere eyes roaming my face looking for any sign of emotion. I didn't reply.
"Let's put this behind shall we? Can you forgive me?"
I took a deep breath. All I needed to do was tolerate him for the next few months then I'd never have to lock eyes with him again.
"I forgive you"
He smiled. It was actually friendly.
"Would you mind giving us some time?" Loki asked, turning to Thor and Steve, "As partners I think we at least need to talk some things through"
Steve looked disgruntled to say the least.
"I'm not leaving Rose alone if that's what you want," he growled.
"Rogers, I give you my word I will not harm her"
Thor placed a hand on Steve's shoulder.
"Captain, no more harm will come to the lady" Thor reassured. "Loki and I have spoken, and we are now determined to see our task mission through"
"Just go, Steve," I ordered.
In the second our eyes met I could see his soul cracking. He wanted to love me. To have his feelings reciprocated.
'You're not right for him!' My head screamed.
I knew in my heart that was true. I wanted to be the perfect person for Steve. The type of girl to settle down in a house in the suburbs, have ten kids and a white picket fence and grow old. But that wasn't me.
My heart had already decided. Steve Rogers and Rose Potts would only ever be friends.
He took one last glance at me as if he'd been dismissed and let Thor lead him out of the infirmary.
"I truly am sorry, Potts" Loki murmured as I gazed after Steve. "Sometimes I can't help myself. It's like another personality comes over me"
"Maybe you have a split personality disorder?" I chuckled, bringing my attention back to Laufeyson and pondering the possibilities.
He paused and looked me over.
"Are you hurt?"
"No, just a little stiff. Next time, throw me harder," I laughed.
"There will be no next time"
"Wow, what did Thor threaten you with? A lifetime sentence cleaning Asgardian toilets?"
He chuckled, "Hardly. He didn't have to threaten me at all. He just reminded me of something our mother had said."
I looked at him quizzically. What had his mother once said to change him so quickly?
"I'm sorry for what I said about your past, I could feel from your past memories that you have many regrets"
I broke eye contact and looked away.
"I'm truly sorry I brought back those morbid memories. If it's any conciliation, I will assure the team I was lying about what I said. There's no need for them to know"
