The vision in my eyes was red. Red like the blood dripping from my nose. Red like the colour of my anger. I launched forward, gripping the alien's neck and zapping him with a volt of electricity with enough force to torture but not kill. I wanted them all to suffer. I wanted them to feel an inkling of the hole inside my chest. One after another I laid waste to the creatures charging towards me. Only granting them the mercy of death when another launched my way.
"Rose? What are you doing!" shouted Tony, "Cap, talk some sense into her! If she keeps this up she'll be in three pieces"
I saw Steve briefly glance towards me and frown. "Keep it together, Potts. If you fight reckless like that, we won't make it out alive."
He was right. There was no relief. The waves of soldiers were continual and my anger only drained my energy more. But even then, I couldn't help myself. I'd trusted him! I'd been stupid enough to trust to god of mischief and now look where I was. Covered in blood and amidst aliens.
To make matter worse, we'd lost contact with the other teams.
Clint, Natasha and Bruce had been radio silent for ten minute now. Ten minutes seemed like an eternity at this point.
The Bifrost continued to be invaded.
One after another I punched, kicked, zapped, and stabbed at the soldiers. We were being bombarded. The waves were becoming heavier and heavier, to the point where we were being forced to shove the corpses off the side of the bridge.
Just as I was about to throw Steve's shield back towards him, figures appeared towards the Asgard end of the Bifrost. I froze.
"Hey, guys!"
"What?" demanded Tony, sending his repulsor's firing into the legion.
"We've got company"
It was Natasha and Clint dragging the unconscious body of Bruce Banner.
I let out a shout of shock as I made out the figure. In a second of distraction, I was jammed to the ground. Before I could fight back, handcuffs were jammed onto my wrists and I was struck with a silver probe. I slumped forwards. They'd drained my internal energy. I tried desperately to teleport but to no avail.
Glancing over at Steve, they'd managed to hold him down.
Just as I was about to shout for Tony to escape, a huge purple figure appeared. I knew him immediately. He'd appeared in my dreams many a time. He was here.
Thanos.
His large purple hand powered towards Tony, grabbing him from behind and tearing the metal away from his skin. The suit ejected from his body automatically, falling solidly to the ground. In a split second Tony was handcuffed to.
I locked eyes with Natasha and Clint, who had been thrust forward with Bruce, amongst the team. Just managing to sit up, I wished I hadn't bothered. There was another group of soldiers approaching now, and as they threw the god of thunder forward, my heart sank. He was locked into a steal frame, leaving him unable to move.
"Ahhh, the Avengers. So nice of you to drop by," came the voice of the purple giant, "You put up far less of a fight then I thought possible."
"Let us out of this handcuffs and we'll show you just how pissed off we are," growled Barton, giving a handcuffed middle finger to Thanos.
Thanos stepped forward, his purple palm resonating a loud slap across Clint's face, making me flinch.
"To be honest with you, Barney, I couldn't care less what your plan is. We're not going to allow it," purred Tony, eyeing the titan with anger.
