Unexpected (Shadow x Mobian!Reader)

The two of you warped into a chrome hallway with red and yellow doors lining the halls. Shadow was on the ground face first with you on his back trying to process what had happened. Both of you groaned from hitting your heads together. You propped yourself up on your hands now straddling his back and you saw that the Chaos Emerald had fallen from his hand and was ahead of you two. You scrambled up using him as leverage to grab on to it.

"Chaos Control!" The emerald wasn't glowing and nothing happened when you shouted it. "Chaos Control!?" You yelled again. Shadow got up and walked over to you. "Why isn't it working?" He only laughed at your attempts then taking it out of your hands, completely ignoring your questions and forcing you up. "Where are you taking me?! Let me go!" You struggled in his hands, the emerald now in his quills you'd never be able to get it, and your bag on his back.

"Shut up and walk." He pushed you forward and started walking you down the hallway, more like dragging you due to the ankle, to an open room with computers lining the walls. And Eggman swiveled around in his chair to face you two.

"Welcome back Shadow the hedgehog! I see you were, mm, successful in your mission? AND you brought a prisoner?! You are going to make me blush with the enthusiasm you bring to the team." Eggman stood and lifted you from Shadows hands, you now dangled in the air.

"They willingly came." Shadow went and placed the emerald in a case next to three others.

"Willingly?! Well well well discourse in the Sonic Team?" His pointed smile widened and he leaned forward.

"Fuck. You." You spat on his glasses and he dropped you to the ground.

"My my what a mouth on that one. Shadow take them to their cell." Shadow returned to you and lifted you to your feet, grabbing your wrists and putting a tie on them. "I considered putting you on the winning team, but you were just rude. Now you are bait for the one I truly want."

"You won't win Eggman. Not even with your fake Sonic!" He laughed maniacally.

"Shadow?! The fake Sonic?! HAHA you make me laugh with your silly remarks. Shadow has been around longer than you and that blue freak. If anything Sonic is the fake." The doors closed behind you two as Shadow lead you down the hall to your new room.

"You will stay here until we have further information on the whereabouts of Sonic and the others." He pushed you to a room with only a bed and a dangling light. "Otherwise do not speak unless told otherwise." He slammed the door when he left, leaving you alone.

Shadow returned to Eggman and waited for further orders. "This is PERFECT SHADOW! Do you understand the lengths those imbeciles will go to retrieve their friend? They will stop at nothing. And when I-" Eggman paused and looked at the brooding hedgehog. "I mean WE, when we have our hands on them the world is ours!" Shadow didn't fully know what he had meant by the world being theirs. His motives did not match his words, but being the grandson of Gerald, and cousin of Maria, he believed that it was ultimately good in the end. "We will hold all the power soon." Shadow watched the four emeralds pulsate in the case, they only needed three more. Eggman was in the middle of tinkering with his new toy as Shadow likes to call them. The little robots that roam around the lab all with different tasks and personalities, it was, humorous.

"And what exactly is the plan when we have all Chaos Emeralds?" Eggman's frame stiffened at the question as if unprepared to answer. "You say we will have all the power. But do you know what that would entail?" Shadow kept prodding.

"Well. I, uh, we um." Eggman paused and looked to the sky for an answer. "We will make sure the emeralds do not get in the wrong hand. Those who want to destroy the world that is." He wagged his finger in the air as he answered. "Now don't you have brooding to do elsewhere? I am trying to think and you are getting in my space." Shadow was able to tell that there was obviously an anterior motive behind all this. On one of the screens was the Ark, where he had come from, along with the future plans and emergency protocols. He could not read what they were from where he was and instead of walking up closer Shadow had left. The questions that he had were only suited for the one who was currently held captive.
