Unexpected (Shadow x Mobian!Reader)

"Are you okay? After hearing that?" You asked, Shadow's expression was hard to understand, one thing you did know about him was that he was nearly impossible to read. But if you were in his shoes, hearing what Eggman had said, it would have severely effected your actions and ways of thinking from that point on.

"None of your concern." Of course he wouldn't let you know if he was okay or fine. You two didn't know each other like that yet, and he was holding you captive along with Eggman. His ears were lower than their perky state since then. In Shadows head he was going over a lot of his actions regarding holding prisoners, executing certain missions, and how they effect his end goal.

Protecting the world.

Ever since he woke up he had been working with Eggman and he believed that Eggman was going to help the world and its inhabitants. And he was wrong. This whole time Shadow had been helping the enemy. And now he had to play along with the plans.

Shadow brought you to your cell and threw you in like always, closing the door slower and leaving you. You noticed your journal sitting on your bed with a pencil and a sticky note in... messy handwriting it said "Here. To Not Be Lonely. -S" You smiled at the cute note and stuck it inside the next empty page writing out a thanks to the grouch and a little doodle of his head with an angry face. After all this time being bored and not having a sane person to talk to you didn't know what to do with the book that was now in your lap, other than doodling the black and red hedgehog. And you did, a lot. He was the only thing you had seen besides Eggman and some robots but he was far more fun to doodle.

Shadow was standing outside your cell standing guard. He hadn't heard you move besides sitting on your bed and assumed you had went to sleep again, and after a long period of time without hearing movement he allowed himself in. And you were not sleeping, instead drawing him, catching both of you off guard and completely embarrassing you.

His gaze never left the journal he saw himself with a variety of expressions and some with the two of you together walking down a hall. You being tied and him dragging you along and you with a speech bubble above your head. He couldn't read it fast enough since you snapped the book closed with a beet red face and turned away. "Are you here to watch me sleep again?"

"No."

"Then why are you here?" You still weren't looking at him, too humiliated in yourself.

"We are going to plot on a way out." He walked up to your bed and stood above you. "I am helping you out of here." He crossed his arms and looked around the room the same way you had been this whole time.

"There isn't an exit inside the room." You were looking down at your lap and he poked the back of your head to get your attention, when you looked up he pointed to the vent.

"I'll lift you up into it."

"And what about the cameras?" You crossed your arms.

"I'll create a distraction and he won't focus on you." Shadow prepared himself under the vent and clasped his hands together for you to put your foot. You got up from the bed and you made your way to him and you placed your hands on his shoulders, your foot in his hands, and you jumped getting your fingers into the grate. You were standing on Shadows shoulders

"You don't happen to have something to take the vent off do you?" You felt your legs begin to shake when you looked down and your knees almost buckled.

"Calm down, I've got you." Shadow looked up from below and his grip on your ankles tightened. "Not with me no I don't have anything."

"Okay fine help me down we are just gonna do another plan." You felt Shadow's fur move between your legs when he nodded and to help you down he motioned for one leg down and he guided his hand up your leg then to your waist, doing the same with the other. It definitely caught you off guard with the sudden intimacy and you planted yourself down on the ground. "We are just going to run." You smiled confident in your plan.
