Chapter 5 Beautiful

Quinn

It was beautiful and absolutely perfect. I've never seen Beckett look so happy. I've never seen a wedding so magical. Even Breyden and Laney's wasn't this amazing. I honestly don't know how Georgia does it.

The family converged on Beckett and Aubrey immediately after Georgia's toast. Congratulations were given, welcoming Aubrey to the family, thrilled with the news of them taking the Bradford name. And I slipped to the background where I'm more comfortable.

I don't like being the center of attention. I don't want a spotlight on me. I learned that too well when I first reconnected to this family. They're loud and boisterous, and don't have a problem making statements to the press. I'm not used to this.

Taking Hope away from the crowd as she began getting cranky from too much noise, I snuck back into the Inn through the side kitchen door. The crew working for Brynn hustled around the kitchen, filling platters with finger food and glasses filled with champagne. Hurrying outside again to feed the hungry celebration.

I feel like I'm in the way here too, although no one seems to notice I'm even here. Weaving through the servers, I work my way out to the hall and walk into the quiet. Hope fusses softly, sucking her thumb and resting her head on my shoulder.

Patting her back, I walk up and down the hall to settle her. "It's okay, baby. I know they're loud but they're just happy, is all. Your Uncle Beckett and Aunt Aubrey are celebrating. You'll get used to it. Or you'll slip out like Mama does. No one notices that I'm missing anyway. They're busy."

As Hope settles, I wander into the library and marvel at the exquisite work their crew has done here. I'll have an apartment on the third floor soon. I picked out the wall colors yesterday. Georgia brought over the color palette for me to choose from.

I need to decide on the final touches and furniture, Georgia said. I assumed I would just be bringing what I have at the house over, but she said I need to keep the furniture there for when we hire more help. I guess I won't be working alone after all. I'll be the manager, not the Innkeeper, but manager.

I've wanted this to happen. I just didn't think it would happen so easily. I've never had anything so simple happen to me as Georgia has made it for us. I just can't believe this is my life now. My new place of employment. It's cozy and homey with elegance and class in every detail. But then I expect nothing less from Georgia.

I love the library. I think it's my favorite room in the entire place. All the slick cherry wood shelves waiting to be filled, the dark red leather chairs that make me want to sink into for hours, just to read from the one of the classics I know she's going to have. The oversized fireplace is going to be gorgeous on those cold winter nights to warm my feet in front of. I'm so excited to start this chapter of my life. I can't wait.

The entire place is just full of elaborate and extravagant charm. And I get to spend every day here. The Tucker's and Beckett should feel so proud of the work they've done here. I've never seen anything like this.

Running my fingers along the soft marble mantle, I jiggle Hope in my arms. "We're going to love it here, baby girl. We get to spend every day here reading when we get time."

"Have you picked a room yet?" Spinning around in surprise, I found Leo leaning against the door jam watching me. I wonder how long he's been there?

"I didn't think anyone would be in here." I realize I might not be allowed to just wander around like I was.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I was showing Paige around and saw you in here." Leo seems so at ease, comfortable in any situation. He's not awkward like I am. "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to spend some quiet time with my favorite girls."
