Mason POV

"Fuck!" I said aloud as the nurse changed my gauze over my gun shot womb.

"Relax baby" my mom said.

"I'm sorry ma. It hurts like a bitch though . "

"Here you go Mason." the nurse handed me my meds and a cup of water.

"How long will I have to stay here ?" I asked before she walked out of my room

"Ummmm I'll send the Doctor in and he will talk about you being discharged."

I sighed "Alright thank you."

My mom and I sat in silence for a moment .

"Ma where's Kelci and the kids . "

"Ummmmm I'm not sure actually. I told her to go home and get some rest . Her and Chris had been here for two days straight I had to send them on. Chris was starting to smell." We both laughed.

It kind hurt for me to even laugh a little . I was shot three times and one was centimeters from my last womb . I would have been dead if it would have hit it .

"I'm just glad my baby is okay. I'm so tired of all this non since . I'm still trying to process everything. It doesn't even seem real . I never knew he had a son my own brother......" She started to cry .

"Ma stop" I hated to see her cry.

She shook her head repeatedly. " my mama and daddy are probably rolling over in their graves God help me"
She paused for a second and wiped her eyes.

She continued.

"But it's okay Quanny . I swear ima be fine. It's just still fresh. As long as you know I would never betray you and those kids. "

" I know ma. " I patted her shoulder. 

Moments later Chris and Dison walked in my room.

"Wasssup man!" I said happy to see my son. He walked over to my bed and sat down next to me .

"Are you okay now ?" He asked me

"Yeah I'm good. It's not as bad as I thought . Or the first time I was hit " I replied

"This happened to you already !?" He said in awe

I chuckled at his interest in my past life. I knew I couldn't go in to detail with him at such a young age but I could give him the minimum with understanding.

"Yeah but I was young and it happened before you were even born lil man. Don't worry about me , yo daddy a Thug !"

"Mas stop" my mom chimed in.

"I'm just saying Ma" I laughed a little .
"But ummm where's your mom?"

"Uhhh I don't know." He said

"She said she had business to take care of but she's got Mal with her though. " Chris said

I reached for my phone off of the table next to me and dialed Kelci

She answered on the third ring

"Hello?" She said in a normal tone

"Yeah where you at?"

"Uhh I'm driving down 78? Why wassup baby?" She sounded concerned

"Where you going ?" I asked curiously

She sighed "Mas I had some business to take care of for you and me . I left when you were sleeping . Your mom said she would be there when you woke up. Are you okay? "
