I looked out of the window only to have my heart drop like a pebble in a deep well. There was a large swarm of Sentinels, flying around the bubble with their venom laced whips and golden halberds. Clearly they were guarding the bubble, I knew from my previous life that they didn't play around. My heart was racing out of my chest, the room was spinning, I felt sick to my stomach. If I stayed here I will be with my mothers façade, if I left then I was going to die by the heartless Sentinels.

With some deep breaths and a talk to myself, I heard another caark again, on my window I saw two crows,  One of them had a rolled paper on its left leg, while the other one had a little pouch on its right leg. I carefully stood up and took the rolled paper and pouch off the crows' legs. Both of the crows didn't make a sound, almost like they somehow knew, and  flew off into the darkness of night.

I unrolled the paper the words glowed bright in the darkness, it said, 'greetings Claire, we don't have much time. I want you to swallow the pill in the pouch, with this no one will see you. Meet me at the farm full of sheep. From your sister Marnie.'

Why was everything so complex? I thought as I swallowed the pill capsule from the pouch. Within seconds I noticed my arms were disappearing, I was becoming invisible. Just in time too, my mother was calling for me in her fake drawled accent again.
With extreme caution, I climbed out of the window, sneaking passed the Sentinels. I managed to exit the bubble, until I looked at my foot to see it becoming visible. There was no other choice I jumped off the floating patch of land, I was falling and with the moonlight and saw my body turn visible again.

My wings caught the wind and I flew straight to the sheep farm, it was so good to fly and get fresh air again. Before I could relax, a murder of crows flew towards me. My instinct told me to follow them, so I did and landed on the lush green grass. I felt the cool dew of night on my feet, it was refreshing to feel something so simple.
Fatigue hung over me like a raincloud, I lay down on the damp grass and welcomed sleep.
Unsure of how many hours I slept, I was rudely awoken to the sound of sheep. Next thing I hear is "of course you slept here, now get ready for a mind fuck." I got up from the damp ground, only to see a woman towering over me. The woman wore tattered punk clothes, and carried a large backpack on her shoulder. On her shoulder sat a crow, that made soft caarks in her ear, her hair was jet black with a sideswept buzzcut.

I guessed this was Marnie from the note, I politely introduced myself "hello, my names Claire. I'm guessing you're Marnie, right?" The woman rolled her eyes and sighed in disappointment, "yes Claire I'm Marnie, my crows have been cleaning your mess ever since you left St Caesers y'know. You travel around a lot, anyway we can't stay here exposed in the open, come with me."
Marnie grabbed my wrist and ran towards a quaint little cottage, we got inside in perfect timing. Both of us breathing loudly, I asked what was going on outside. Meanwhile Marnie was closing the curtains and lit a candle with her lighter, she gestured a 'sshh' with her finger to her lips.
I felt very curious of Marnie, I could tell she had been in combat training in the past. Before I could relax, Marnie came towards me and whispered "there's a Sentinel outside, can you kill him?" I heard him a few long strides away from the cottage, yes Marnie I can kill him I thought cockily.

I let go instantly and managed to Soul Wander inside the Sentinel, his soul was strong but he wasn't that experienced. Using his hand I noticed a small dagger at his belt, I unsheathed it and stabbed his heart with borrowed strength.
I woke up back in my body again, feeling a little shaken and faint. Marnie must've been very strong because she carried me to a couch, that was quite far from the entrance.

My stomach rumbled and I felt sick, my head spun with hunger. Out of the blue I heard the ting of metal cutlery and plates, then I caught the smell of fried bacon. My mouth was watering before I noticed the slight drooling. I carefully opened my eyes, only to see Marnie with a tray of food. She sat next to me, I adjusted my posture and felt dangerously ravenous.
The food was a fry up with bacon, scrambled eggs, toast and mushrooms with a glass of apple juice. I ate it all fast like it was my last meal.
Doing Soul Wandering really took a toll on me in this body unlike my clone, maybe because I felt everything at such an increased intensity.
When I finished my food I felt energised and strong again, I thanked Marnie for the food. "That was delicious, thank you again. Do you mind if I sleep a bit?" Marnie shook her head, I didn't notice until now, but a crow was perched on her shoulder eyeing me with caution.

A realisation hit me square in the face, Marnie sent a crow called Corvus to my clone. This woman spoke to the crows, was she? No, of course not I thought to myself. Yet it was incredible if I was in the prescence of a mage. I saw Marnie's lip curl knowing she could read my thoughts, I struck gold with her as an ally.
"I didn't know exactly what to expect?" I blurted out with no control. She was smiling so much it was hypnotising, sleep welcomed me again in its arms. All I rememberd hearing was, "relax sister together we will fight, maybe I should show you some answers?"
