Thoma and Ayato went back to school after the Pokemon card incident, the hallway was pitch black and when they turned to their classroom, the only light they could see was from a small lamp.
Thoma could not even make out the room interior.
They saw Lumine and Childe sitting in front of each other, Lumine noticed both of them coming in and waved, “Just in time! Want to join?”
“What are you two doing?” Thoma walked in as Ayato lagged behind.
“No horror stories today, we are playing with the occult. Dean Xu just left so we are safe,” Lumine winked and gave them a thumbs-up.
Thoma shrugged and went to sit with them, he noticed Ayato still standing at the door and signaled him to come in.
“Sit here, they even saved a spot for you,” Thoma is clearly mocking, Ayato hesitated, but he eventually sat down with the rest.
Lumine was quite brave, she volunteered to be the moderator, “Let me ask!” She picked up the pencil and Childe placed his hands over hers and Ayato’s.
Today was pretty hot, but when Thoma’s hand was placed on top of Ayato’s, his fingertips felt cold against Ayato’s hands.
Ayato paused. He couldn’t tell what he was exactly feeling, he was either worried about the game or his deskmate’s hand was on his.
The chill burned the back of his hand.
“Close your eyes and don’t open them, or else the ghost will come and take your soul,” Lumine said.
Thoma grinned a bit, he didn't really believe in all these things. His other hand supported his head and he turned to look at Ayato whose eyes were shut tighter than anyone else.
While Lumine was chanting some things, Thoma noticed that Ayato’s eyelashes were quite long. He stared at him for a while.
Ayato fidgeted for a little while, his eyes still shut close but then he couldn’t shut them anymore. He suddenly opened his eyes and unexpectedly met Thoma’s.
The two of them looked at each other in silence.
“Don’t open your eyes, or else your soul will be stolen,” Lumine said.
Ayato stared at Thoma frozen for a while, Thoma found it funny and gave him a lukewarm smile, he mouthed, “It’s fake.”
When Lumine was about to ask, she took a deep breath and said, “Is it possible for me to date all the girls in my class?”
Thoma “...........”
“What’s up with that question?” Childe frowned.
“None of your business,” Lumine squeezed onto his hand to make him shut up.
Eventually, the pencil landed on ‘no’.
“This thing really moves?” Ayato was trying to act calm but he was internally panicking. “Oi, don’t say that. It’s disrespectful to the pen spirit,” Childe said.
“What happens if we don’t respect it?” Ayato asked.
Childe did not manage to answer, Thoma interrupted him, “It’ll come find you at night.”
Ayato stared at his deskmate, mouth agape.
It is now Ayato’s turn to ask a question, but he didn’t really have anything in mind but Lumine said that it’s disrespectful to invite the pen spirit then not ask anything.
“Is there anyone more handsome than me?”
The whole group screamed at him, “Shameless.”
“I admire your confidence.”
