Chapter 26 - Confrontation

Fearfully Meenavathi turned to look at the person holding her wrist and dropped her knife in shock. It was Yuvraj Pratap Singh Rathod and standing behind him was Anamika.

Pratap left her wrist and gripped her neck choking her. Anamika stopped him from killing Meenavathi on the spot, not because she sympathize with her but because her goal is not achieved yet.  Afterall a mother can never sympathize wirh the one who tries to kill her child or who killed her child.  Taking the chance when Pratap left her, Meenavathi tried to push Anamika but once again prevented by Pratap whose patience broke and slapped her hard.

"Guards", Pratap called for the hidden guards within the chamber planned by him. They locked Meenavathi's hands and legs with chains and hold her tightly while making her kneel infront of their Yuvraj and Bahuranisa. Right now Meenavathi looked like a mad woman who shed off all her pretence and wanted to kill her enemy by either hook or by crook.  "Don't think that you have won, Anamika. I will not let you win.  I will not let you snatch my dreams away", Meenavathi couldnt accept her defeat and was enraged at the woman standing infront of her. The guards were shocked and felt anger for this vile lady when she had addressed their Bahuranisa without any respect.

Without letting Anamika to speak, Pratap said, "Just to let your daughter enter into this palace as my wife, you dared to kill the future Queen and the heir? Being a woman, Don't you have the slightest guilt that you are attacking a pregnant woman and an unborn child?", Pratap questioned her which only made Anamika to think back about her first ever child even though it was not given a chance to be known to the world.

Pratap thought back about how he got to know about Meenavathi's plans.

Flashback

Although after the poison incident, they suspected on Meenavathi but didn't take any action on her due to unavailability of any evidence. But after the attempt of murder on Anamika, where the maid had already confessed that it was Meenavathi who made Anamika to come out, Pratap couldn't wait for evidence to catch her. So he kept some maids and guards to keep a check on her activities. That's how he had an inkling about the intentions behind dinner invitation and also caught the kitchen maid Mohini whom she met in the middle of the night.

After getting caught by Yuvraj himself, Mohini couldn't pretend to be innocent so she said whatever Meenavathi had asked of her to do. That's why Pratap was able to save Anamika by replacing her personal maid Kamala to be in place of Anamika.

Flashback end

Now that he has the evidence in the form of the kitchen maid Mohini, he can directly resolve this matter in the court and put an end to this mad woman.

When Pratap was about to make the guards take her to prison, Meenavathi said with a wicked smile, "My aim was not your wife or your heir. And my daughter? That good for nothing girl who couldn't even seduce you? I always knew that she would be of no use but she can definitely make my way to the throne". Pratap was startled at her thoughts but kept a blank expression while Anamika was unmoved as she already knew about this.

"Infact her incompetency with this Anamika is what made my years of hardwork and bootlicking of your mother go waste. And now, on top of all this, the heir to the kingdom will ultimately close all the doors of my dream. That's why I tried to kill her along with your children. Wouldn't you grieve on this and look for comfort? Then my daughter would be there for you. But it's all over", Meenavathi 's voice became low and suddenly screamed looking at Anamika, "It's all over. Aborting your child and avoiding your pregnancy for years. Everything is over and wasted."

Pratap was numb and couldn't come to understand what she had just said. She killed his child but when? And avoiding pregnancy? That is possible but that also means there were people within their palace who had helped her. But the killing of his child was what he couldn't understand the head or tail. How? When? Where?

Unlike Pratap, Anamika had a calm expression which looks as such on the outside but inside it is the painful memory with which she had been living for years together, if the years from the previous lifetime is taken into account. Although this had not gone according to her plans, her final goal is achieved and herrafter there is no reason to keep these pests here.

Pratap came out of his daze and questioned Meenavathi, "What do you mean? How..how is that possible to kill my child when we didn't had a child?". He was not ready to accept it. Meenavathi laughed viciously and said, "It was five years ago, just a few months after your marriage. Its a oity that you didn't even get to know about it". Due to the shock, Pratap lost a hold on his sword which he had held in his hand till now.

Before it fell down, Anamika took hold of the handle which brought the sword out of the cover. And within a fraction of second, Anamika cut off Meenavathi 's both hands and the blood splashed on all their faces. Pratap came out of his daze but didn't showed any shock or sympathy for the person unconscious on the ground due to severe pain. He was not satisfied on her current state and wanted to cut off her head to satisfy his anger as well as blood thirst.

But he heard Anamika say, "Call for Vaidh ji(Doctor) to treat her and stop the blood flow.  We have to keep her safe".  Even the guards were shocked with all the revelation but more shocked with their Bahuranisa's current order to save the culprit. Pratap shouted, "Anamika!". But she cared less about his shout and signalled the guards.
