So it's been a few weeks since the fair and Kyle and I have been talking nonstop since our first "date" and I have been loving it. I love having someone else to talk to besides my family and my friends, I love them don't get me wrong but when I talk to Kyle it feels different I get butterflies anytime I see his name pop up on my phone, but it just scares me. Because I don't want to get my heart broken again. I need to focus on Hazel and graduating high school.
"Madi, earth to Madi," Amber says.
"What sorry," I say
"what's going on you have been kind of in the clouds these past few weeks?" she asked
"Nothings going on," I say.
"Madi come on we have known each other our whole life I know when something is off or bothering you," she said.
"Fine, I have been talking to a boy," I answer.
"WHAT! who and how long and why haven't you told me?" she asked.
"Kyle and I don't know how long about 3 weeks," I answered
"What! three weeks that's a month and you never said anything and kyle when did you guys start talking," she asked
"At the fair, we made a bet about who was going to win the grand champion, and if I won he had to give me $50 and he got to take me out and if he won he got to take me out on a date that night," I answered
"So either way you were going to go on a date?" she asked,
"yeah and I won too so I got 50 bucks out of it," I say laughing.
"So when did you go on the date?" she asked
"After the sheep show and we went down the midway," I answered
"Who watched Hazel?" she asked
"She came with," I said
"He doesn't care that you have a child?" she asked
"No, and he knows the whole story behind how Hazel got her to" I answered.
"So how did it go then?" she asked
"Good really good," I say with a smile on my face remembering the kiss.
"Okay there's more than good," she said
"No there's not," I say with a smile.
"Yes there is and I'm not going to leave you alone until you tell me what happened," she said
"Fine, we kissed," I answered and turned away to check on Hazel.
"WHAT!!!!" she yelled
"Quiet down no one knows about the kiss except you, me, and kyle," I say quietly.
"When did you kiss?" she asked
"After the date when he walked us back to the camper," I answered
"Did he come in the camper?" she asked
"No, we kissed outside after I put Hazel in the camper to bed, and then I came back out and we talked for a little bit, and then all of a sudden we were kissing," I said
"And how was the kiss?" she asked
"Amazing I didn't want it to stop but I had to stop it," I said
"Why? you didn't have to," she answered
"Yes, I did" I answered with a frown
" But why? I don't understand if it was an amazing kiss why did you have to stop," she asked
"because I can't be in a relationship right now I have to focus on Hazel and graduating high school," I answered
"well that's about the lame excuses I have ever heard." she said laughing
"What why," I ask
"Because then once you graduate high school you will say you have to graduate college and then it will be I have to focus on work so it will never be a good time for you," she said.
"Yeah I guess your right I just don't want to have my heart broken again I can't go through that pain again," I answered almost in tears thinking about getting my heart broken again.
"You don't know that you will get heartbroken if you don't put it out there. and every heartbreak brings you closer to your soul mate so just do what your heart wants," she said.
"I know what my heart wants but you don't understand I have a child I have to think about where it's not just me," I said.
"I know and I'm not trying to tell you what to do. but you will make the best decision for both you and Hazel," she says giving me a hug.
"Thanks amber I needed to tell someone and talk about it with someone," I said
"No problem I'm always here for you no matter what," she said
" Thanks, I needed that." I said
"now let's go to the beach," she said.
"Yeah, let's go," I said and then we headed out to the beach to enjoy one of the last days of summer.
