Over the next couple of hours after around 10pm and everyone from the party went home, Rick stayed close incase Lesley was to need anything or incase he had to take Lesley to the hospital for whatever reason. Trying to rest as much as she can though, Lesley started to find it more difficult to stay comfortable throughout the night when she swore she started to continue to have consistency with the contractions and decided she had to wake Rick up.." Rick.... I need you to wake up... Richard!"
" Lesley I'm right here..." Rick sprang out of bed quickly to be at her side..
" Rick, I think I'm okay... I don't think we should panic at least not yet.... but I think the contractions may have started to become consistent. I think this baby is trying to come now..."
" Les, can I do something for you.... What do you need me to do to help you?" Rick asked
" Just stay relaxed... Can you try and keep me to stay relaxed.... I need to try to stay calm and relaxed especially if this baby does decide he wants to come now." Lesley replied and reached for Rick's hand while she started to focus on keeping herself calm as well as with her breathing.
" You think you may have gone into premature labor?" Rick asked
" I think it's possible..... Something did feel different while I was talking to Jessie and just before everyone had gone home and I thought maybe it was just braxton hicks and then when you thought something was off and you had me sit down for the rest of the time.... I think our little guy was just maybe alittle excited from the surprise you had waiting for me because I've had Braxton Hicks on and off since after you came home... Maybe our little guy is just saying ' I'm gonna play a mind game or 2' but I just hope Rick that he's gonna wait because it's too early for him to come yet and I'm not ready yet...." Lesley adjusted to sit up alittle more with Rick's help as he was about to examine her.
" I'm gonna get Dana on the phone... Find out whether I should take you in or not.. l refuse to take any chances with this especially because you're 2 cm dilated and I don't think that would be a good thing." Rick insisted and went to reach for the phone but stopped when Lesley gripped on his hand when another contraction started...
" Well contractions are somewhat strong but my water hasn't broken so maybe it hasn't officially started and they'll slow and maybe they'll even stop... I do think however, ah that we should call Jessie and see if she could come back to stay with the girls.... They can't be left alone if you have to go and take me in and I don't want them to have them around up here if I have to end up with delivering here in the house again they're too young to be around this kind of situation." Lesley answered while trying to stay relaxed
" Anything you need me to do, I'm right here right by your side" Rick replied with a smile and gave Jessie a call while staying at lesley's side and later called Dana who advised him right away that he had to bring her in.
" Dana suggested that we just head in but I want to monitor and watch before just going in... she did say to look out on if you have started to dilate and told me to take you in for sure if you've dilated past 5cms."
" Hopefully our son will settle and decide to wait and if he does then we won't have to go...." Lesley paused when Rick gave her a kiss. " You're gonna have a son you realize that don't you..." Lesley leaned over to Rick when another but stronger contraction started again " Or not..... wh-what are you starin' at.." Lesley barked while trying to keep calm with her breathing.
" I'm staring at my beautiful wife... and you are Lesley.... and I'm the luckiest man in the world." Rick kissed Lesley after insisting that she take his hand anytime she needed to. " I'm so... so gl-glad that you're here with me... I don't know what I would do if you weren't here."
