Tears rolled out of Stacy's eyes as she sat on the bench.
I walked over and sat near her. Her hair smelt of tarragon and basil. I touched her lap and she faced me.
"Did you have to rip his ear off?" She asked.
"I didn't mean to."
"You didn't mean to? You bit off his ear like a cracker and you say you didn't mean to?"
"He tried to force himself on me and I lost control and I....I..."
"He tried to force himself on you or it's reverse the case?"
"What do you mean?"
"You had issues with your boyfriend so, you decided to take mine."
"Why would I do that and still rip off his ear?"
"I don't know, 'cause you're crazy. No wonder Jake hates you.""Jake doesn't hate me."
"He does."
"He doesn't."
"He does."
"I said he doesn't," I said grabbing a handle.
"He does and everybody is going to follow suit very soon. Maybe you're the reason your dad died 'cause all you think about is yourself."
I turned red immediately and threw a tray at her head. She saw it coming and dodged.
"Jake doesn't hate me," I said breathing heavily. She grabbed her keys and walked outside. I followed her.
She pushed the door open and rushed in furiously.
"Stacy I said I'm sorry," I called after her.
She didn't even look back. She turned towards the stairs and ran into her room. I followed her into her room.
I saw her packing her clothes and I held her hand.
"Stacy listen." She pulled her hand away and faced me.
"What should I listen to?"
"I'm sorry for what I did but, you've to agree that your boyfriend was wrong."
"How was he wrong?"
"For goodness sake, he tried to force himself on me. I wouldn't just bite his ear off."
"Oh I know you Kenzie, you would."
"Why would I do that?"
" 'cause you're crazy."
I looked down on the bed and saw all her clothes packed in her duffel bag.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm leaving. I can't stay in the same house with a crazy person."
"Why? You can't go. Jake's birthday is tomorrow."
"Well, I wish him a happy birthday." She turned and started to go. She bumped into mum on the way.
"Stacy where are you going?"
"Bye auntie." She said and pecked her on the cheek. She ran down the stairs in a flash.
"Where is she going?"
"She's leaving."
"Why?"
"For some reason, she knows but, I don't care."
