Meanwhile back in New York, the ladies had no idea of the trouble the Ghostbusters were in. After about two and a half hours, Janine started to get concerned so she called the phone in Ecto-1 but got no answer. She then called Kylie Griffin at the bookstore to see if Ray had called her for information regarding any specters but she said she hadn't gotten any calls from the guys. In the meantime, Ray's girlfriend Jenny Moran had stopped by to drop off some paperwork while Janine informed her of the Ghostbusters being MIA.

"It's been almost three and a half hours since they left and they're still not back yet." Janine said as she buried her face in her hands.

"Maybe they got caught in traffic." Jenny suggested trying to keep calm, "I mean Ossining is about 45 minutes from here."

"Yeah, but if they were stuck in traffic, wouldn't they have called by now?" Janine asked.

"Yes, but you know they don't always think about these things." Jenny replied.

"I guess you're right..." Janine muttered.

"Hello, anyone here?" a woman's voice called.

Janine and Jenny turned to see Dana Barrett, Peter's girlfriend, walk in wearing a small black dress, ready for her date with the talkative psychologist.

"Hey Dana." Jenny greeted.

"Hey girls, Peter and the guys still out on a call?" Dana asked as she set her purse down.

"Yeah." Janine replied a bit glumly, "They've been gone for about three and a half hours now."

"Oh my, where was the job at?"

"Somewhere outside of Ossining about 45 minutes from here." Janine replied.

"We've tried calling them but no answer." Jenny added, "Kylie said she hasn't heard from them either."

"And even if they were stuck in traffic, they still would've called to let us know where they were." Janine said as she glanced at the phone.

"Let's try again." Jenny said as she picked up the phone and dialed the number to the car phone.

"Winston, you here?" a woman's voice called out. Tiyah Clarke, Winston's fiancée, walked in dressed nicely for their date.

"Hey Jen, Janine, Dana, the guys out on a call?"

"Yeah, but they've been gone for three and a half, going on four, hours now." Janine replied.

"They haven't called either." Dana added, "Kylie hasn't heard from them either."

"No answer." Jenny sighed as she hung up the phone, "I'm beginning to think something's wrong."

"Should we call the police?" Tiyah asked.

"We could, but they can't declare the guys missing unless it's been 24 hours." Janine replied as she rubbed her tired blue eyes.

"Let's give them another hour and if we don't hear from them, we'll notify the police." Dana suggested.

"Maybe the mayor as well." Jenny added.

"How about we go upstairs and get something to drink." Tiyah said, "Might take our minds off the guys."

"Good idea." Janine said as she stood up, "But first, I'm gonna call Mel and see if she can come out to New York. If the guys really are in danger, we could use some FBI expertise."

Tiyah, Jenny, and Dana headed up to the second floor while Janine dialed the number to their FBI liaison to inform her of the missing Ghostbusters.

Darkness and a cold, stone floor were the only things Peter was aware of. He could faintly hear water dripping from somewhere. He felt a dull pain in his left shoulder and another one in his right side. He moved slightly to realize that his hands and feet were bound together and that he didn't have his proton pack. His green eyes blinked a for few seconds before opening. Peter was lying on the floor in some room with a single light overhead and saw Egon, Ray, and Winston still unconscious. Egon was laying on the floor with a small bleeding cut on his forehead while Winston was slumped against the wall next to him with a bruise on his cheek. And Ray was slumped next to the psychologist with a bruise and several small cuts on his face.
