Toph woke up and gasped, everything around her was freezing. Sokka jerked awake "its ok. Chill out, do u remember what happened?" She looked towards him "im not chilling im freezing!!! And yes i remember!" She punched him in the shoulder and he jumped "ow. Oh i get it...sorry about the chill, just kidding thats funny!! How did u come up with that?" She grumbled and shifted to where she kicked him in the side "OW!! Toph!! Come on be serious." Sokka said after rubbing his arm then ribs. She sighed "Well, why dont u, Meathead." He beamed as she called him by his nickname then said "Aang, Katara, Zuko? U can come in now." He said after hearing Aang and Zuko argue about weather Air or Fire was better and Katara tell them to shut up. They ducked and came in and Toph mumbled "am i crazy or are we-"
"-back in the past. Ur not crazy."
Zuko mumbled and slowly rubbed his arms "geez, its freezing in here. How did u two sleep in here?" His hands jerked the way of the fireplace and a fire lit.
Toph didn't care whether or not the fire was up she had one question that apparently Sokka had as they asked it at the same time "why are we back in the past?" Her color-less eyes shifted towards Sokka as Aang said "when i sat up in the Avatar State to save u all...i had a vision of Roku..he told me in order to save us we were to travel to the past, and make a different past..."
*Meanwhile in the real world*
Su and Lin watched as all the adults were taken away and Tenzin started to follow but Kya stopped him "Tenzin no, let them go." She placed her hands on his shoulders and he said "don't touch me Kya! I'm not giving up on them...why are you?!" He pushed away from her. Bumi took a book off the shelf, examined the book, then slammed it to the floor "yea Kya!!!!" Tenzin hugged Lin and she blushed deeply "i want my mother back!!!" Su cried. Izumi picked up the little girl and held her "all we can do is go with them, and wait for them to wake."
*Back to the Gaang*
Toph looked at him "make a different past?! How?!?!" She got up and then sat back down "why am i wearing shoes?" She knew why, just didn't want shoes. Sokka helped her up and they all walked out of the tent. Aang just said "there could be a battle we missed? Or something like that?" Zuko looked at him "the hundred year war?" Aang kicked Zuko in the shin when he started to smirk "that wasn't my fault!!!" Katara got between them "stop it. You two are acting as if we never grew up." She then continued "i was eavesdropping on Gran-Gran earlier this morning and she said something about a bandit king. Sokka do you remember how i told u Gran-Gran died in a war? Maybe this 'Bandit King' is the answer to getting back home!!!!" Toph was basically leaning on Sokka as they stood talking. She looked around and muttered "i hate not being able to see..." Zuko looked confused "i thought you were born blind, so you can't see all the time." She stepped forward lifted up a rock with snow on it then it nailed him in the face. Sokka and Toph laughed and Zuko just yelled "that's why i didn't like you at first. Earthbenders are so moody!!!!" Katara looked at him and Sokka said "no thats just Toph. Aang is an earthbender too." Everyone froze as a little kid yelled "EARTHBENDER!!!!!!" Half the village came out of their tents and firenation soldiers ran over "who is the earthbender?" Toph slowly raised her hand and he said "do you use your bending often?" She nodded "i cant see with out my bending, Fireball." Toph got handcuffed "hey what the heck??!! Let me go." The soldiers said "any earthbender is taken to prision around here, the Bandit King uses earthbending, even some of his Bandits." She secretly tried to bend the handcuffs but couldn't, they were platinum. Sokka ran up "hey!! She is not an earthbender, we are just playing a game. Me and my friends are pretending to be benders." Toph hit the ground with her foot "i am too a bender!!!" She lifted up a chunk of earth and hit it at what she thought was a firenation soldier.( it was ) As they fell she felt hands grab her stomach and shoulders, she was lifted off her feet before she could bend. "You are a feisty one." The firenation soldier said. Sokka was held back, along with the others as Toph was carried to a ship. Sokka looked back at his tribe with tears in his eyes "look at what you all did!!! I didn't want this to happen again!!!" Katara was tearing up to before she realized something "Sokka. She's being taken to the rig!" Sokka looked at her "the rig? Wait...you mean that big floating hunk of metal in the middle of the sea?" Katara nodded. *Heroic music* Sokka says "alright, lets go get my girlfriend." *the music cuts off* "Sokka, how many times does anybody have to say it? She's NOT your girlfriend!" Katara says then Sokka sighs "alright...Lets go rescue Toph."
