"Lee Haechan?" She asked, looking up towards the boy who had just entered her office, no knock or bow towards her from respect whatsoever.
This surely has to be interesting, she thought, placing a leg over another as she looked at him approach her slowly, eyeing her down as if she was a meal served on a platter for him especially
"Xiao Jiayi" he spoke, the honey like voice dripping from each syllable, something she truly did not expect from a boy with that much pride.
"We usually don't go by a first name basis in this office, boss will be fine" she said and he scoffed, eyeing her through half lidded eyes
"You're not my boss, don't get too confident" he said, sitting down on the chair in front of her, in the same position as her, showing he was on equal-ness as he tossed his CV onto the table, making sure to knock over the glass name plaque on her desk
"Right. You passed at the top of your class for business school?" She asked and he shrugged with a smug look on his face
"I don't brag about it too often" he said and she raised an eyebrow, closing the file closed as she realised she had got enough information about him from him just talking to her
"Why did you choose Hansung corp?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him and he chuckled
"To replace that..with my name" he smiled innocently, pointing towards the glass name plaque.
"You think you can run the company better than me?" She asked with a scoff, finding his over confidence far too amusing
"Oh sweetheart I know I can...no if I was the manager here a small slip up like you have earlier this week wouldn't have happened" he said and her smile fell into a thin line
"Looks like the company is only getting into more trouble with you around, i think a small switch up would be good" he said making her almost roll his eyes at the statement
"As if you could be handling the press any better right now" she muttered
"I probably can...you just don't know it yet" he winked, grabbing one of the hard candied sweets in a bowl on her desk, popping one into his mouth which he swirled around with his tongue as he viewed the interior decor.
"You're hired" she said with a short sigh following as tossed his file onto the bigger puddle of intern files on the floor, showing that she was finally done with all her interviews for the day
"Huh? Ah....guess my dad really did put in a good word for me after all" he said and she raised an eyebrow which he smirked in response to
"Oh...you must not have known, I'm the CEO's son, Lee Donghyuck...call me Haechan though" he said, standing up out of his chair and stretching as he watched the words settle in her
"You graduated at the top of your class in business school...only makes sense to hire you" she said, knowing that only two other employees that she had met with so far had managed to get above a 3.7 GPA.
"I'll see you tomorrow then" he said, with a smirk as he looked back at her, walking out of the office, swinging his keys around his finger shooting Renjun a small smirk as he walked to the elevators.
Renjun rushed into Jia's office to see her massaging her temples as she processed the fact that of all people that were competent enough for this position, it had to be a jackass.
"So you found out huh?" He asked and she looked up at him
"You knew all along?!" She asked
"They told me not to say anything... something about an unbiased interview" he said and she sighed
"Anyway...i better get going to that board meeting" she mumbled as she stood up from her chair
"Need me to order in dinner for after?" Renjun asked and she shook her head
"No actually I've got a ....date" she said and he snickered
"Thought you gave up on dating" renjun asked with a humoured tone
"Well yeah but...i mean... not all men can be bad right?" She asked and he shrugged
"Well I'm a man and I'm pretty amazing so...yeah i guess" he said and she rolled her eyes. She walked out into the hallway, going up the elevator to scan the employees on each floor as they were doing work, greeting most of them and asking about their lives.
The employees surely loved her, although she was strict and incredibly cut throat when it comes to making mistakes on the job, she was very understanding. Making sure that each employee knew that they were different and valued in the company. She loved her job more than anything, the happy people in the workplace who were always free for a nice talk was definitely a pro.
"How's your daughter doing?" She asked the older woman in the break room who stepped in to get a coffee refill
"Oh she was just released from the hospital last night! They had a little boy, he looks amazing here let me show you" the woman said excitedly, grabbing her phone to show the pictures of the small baby boy that her daughter had delivered a few days ago
"Wow, oh my god he's so small" she said with a bright smile as she scrolled through the several pictures of the baby
"His eyes..kind of look like yours" She mumbled
"My daughter is the spitting image of me, but the husband is very certain that the baby looks more like him" the woman chuckled
"Anyway, it was nice catching up with you, i have a meeting to go to" she said, bowing to the older woman regardless of the fact that she was the superior. The woman bowed back in respect as she watched her walk to the elevator
"Hey Jaem" she greeted as she walked past him
"You look happy today... got a date?" He said and she rolled her eyes with a smile which he quickly understood
"Hope he's a keeper" he said with a smile and she nodded with a hum, pressing the button of the elevator and waiting for it to come.
