"I'm a virgin because i never lose" Jaemin said to the other staff with a smirk as he raised his glass to retort what Renjun had said about him losing a potential client by flirting with them.

"Well then, that's one way to put that you don't get bitches" Jeno said raising his glass as well as they sipped on the non alcoholic drink that was laid on the table along with food for the staff

"We haven't done this in a while" Jeno said as Jia joined him and Jaemin

"We haven't had any birthdays recently" she said

"...my birthday was two weeks ago?" Jeno said with a raised eyes

"But you're kind of irrelevant so-"

"I'm head of finance?"

"That's lowkey irrelevant" Jaemin mumbled as with a low chuckle

"Well, don't come to me if you ever need me to do your taxes-"

"Boys please let's keep the banter to a minimum today" Jia said with a warning to the two and they sheepishly smiled

"Haechan, have you met Jeno? He's the head of the finance department" Jia introduced

"Hey, I'm Haechan...your soon to be boss" he said and Jeno awkwardly chuckled, eyeing the glare Haechan had been giving and receiving to and from Jia

"I like this guy" Jaemin snickered with a slight nudge to Jeno

"Nice to meet you...intern" Jeno said, sticking out his hand to give him a formal handshake

"You look kind of familiar, where did you go to college?" Jeno asked

"Yonsei University, i majored in Business management and International business" Haechan said proudly

"Small world, so did I. You had Professor Taeil for economics too?" Jeno asked and Haechan chuckled

"He was the only professor worth my time" Haechan smiled as he began to converse with his fellow alumni

Jaemin and Jia had excused themselves to go and meet other staff and have more work related conversations. Jia was known for being the boss anyone could approach to have a small conversation during lunch or after business hours, the main reason why she had a huge number of staff supporting her decisions and making sure she remained at the top.

"It's been causing a bit of distress lately and I was wondering if there's anything we can do about it" one of the female staff asked her regarding the installation of the cctv cameras near the building to expand further after a theft  had occurred to one of the employees

"I'll write a letter to the city council and see if there's anything I can do about the situation, I'll keep you posted, thanks for bringing it to my attention" She said and the lady bowed in respect

"Alright well, back to work" She mumbled to Renjun who quickly grabbed a red bean rice bun before he left the conference room behind her, following her to her office

"Are the end if term financial reports up yet? Jeno said i needed to sign those" she said and Renjun returned to his desk to grab the files.

She sat back and hummed to herself in relief as her brain overplayed the previous conversation she had with Haechan earlier.

"What did you need?" She asked as she saw him step foot into her office, closing the door securely behind him.

"Why are you so adamant on keeping your position as manager?" He asked, placing his hands on his pocket. Of course on his agenda he was here to sweet talk her into realising how stressful the job was and considering giving it to him. But on her agenda, she wasn't one to ever take for granted whats given to her.

"Because I earned it. I studied harder than everyone else, I worked harder than everyone else so...why would not reap the benefits that are better than everyone else's?" She asked, fully assured that it was her her right to be sitting at the desk which he was now approaching

"My family started this medicine store from a little local store, and my grandfather built it up into this huge franchise, now it's my father's and soon...it'll be mine. So why are you still trying so hard when we both know it's going to be mine"

She sighed as she shook off the memory of the conversation, breathing in and out slowly to calm herself down in order to focus on work, however some of it- even all of it felt useless. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Haechan was probably right. He was probably going to get the company. Why was she working her ass off?
