The Glades. 2040.
William and the newly rescued Felicity walked through the large metal double doors. Felicity was silent as they walked down the hall.
'You okay?' William asked.
'Yes. I am used to being a disappointment to her. The explosives are being stored at the east end of the building. Are there any guards in our way?'
'The coast looks clear,' William said, checking his tablet. 'Except for four heat signatures headed straight towards us.' She looked at the tablet.
'They should be right on top of us.' The two of them looked up to the roof and then heard a thud from behind, causing them to spin around. Then three other people landed. 'Zoe?' Felicity asked.
'You found her,' Zoe said with a smile. She stepped back to reveal Dinah, Roy and Evelyn.
'It is so good to see you alive,' Dinah said tearfully, walking forwards to hug her. Evelyn did too, letting out a choked sob.
'God, I thought I'd lost you too,' she said, giving Evelyn a squeeze, then let go, the two women standing back to look at their friend.
'You could have told us we were on the same side,' Dinah remarked.
'To infiltrate Eden Corps, I had to be the Calculator,' Felicity replied. 'It was the only way.'
'Looks like your plan worked out a little too well,' Roy spoke.
'Well, I'm glad my old team came to the rescue. Thank you for helping William.'
'Where is Mia?' I asked.
'Mia is... so much like her father,' Felicity replied. 'Sorry for not telling you about her, by the way.'
'Yeah, I'm sorry too,' I admitted.
'Guys?' William said, making the group turn to face him. 'The coast is clear between us and the bombs.' Felicity turned and started walking.
'Hurry up. We have to move.'
Later...
Mia and Connor walked into the large, empty room.
'So, what'd we miss?' Mia asked, looking around at the group.
'Oh,' Felicity said slowly. 'You came back.'
'Don't make a big thing of it,' Mia snapped. William scanned the DNA device, and the doors slid open instantly, allowing the group to step in and be greeted by an empty room.
'What the hell?' Dinah asked aloud. 'Where are the bombs?'
'They're already onsite,' a voice said, and we all spun around to see the mayor of Star City, Rene Ramirez.
'Dad,' Zoe breathed. 'What are you doing here?' He looked right at Felicity.
'You are alive,' he remarked.
'No thanks to you, or your friend - Keven Dale.' He turned back to Zoe.
'You were right.' Then, turning his attention back to the team, he spoke. 'You all were right. The attack on Star City is happening tonight, and there is zero plan to evacuate. Dale plans to pin the blame on a vigilante. I'm guessing that's why they were keeping Felicity.'
'I can't say I'm surprised,' Zoe remarked. 'What opened your eyes all of a sudden?'
'Someone very smart with impeccable genetics reminded me of who I used to be,' he replied softly, gazing at his daughter.
