Eleanor was 23 now. The queen of her kingdom and her little brother being the prince. She woke up, and put on her gown as she had to host a ball tonight, to celebrate the fact that she had formed an alliance with some nearby kingdoms. She never had days off, but she did try her best to spend time with her brother when she could. He was alone most of the time, all the time, Evan was the only thing keeping him happy. He loved the boy dearly..as a friend that is. At least he thought. He was just sitting on his bed, the more he thought about how he was treated differently than his sister in the past the more he realized...he was a scapegoat. The one who was blamed for most things, mostly by his mom and her multiple attempts to get rid of him. That's not normal. He knew it wasn't, but he wanted to lie to himself about it. But he knew lying would only make things worse for nobody but himself, he had to be strong, but it was hard to be strong all the damn time.
Artemis, being lost in his own thoughts had bumped into someone. He caught them before the fell but when he finally snapped into reality, he saw that it was Evan in his arms. They both stared at each other wide eyed, red spreading across their faces as Artemis stopped holding Evan and they both calmed themselves down. "I-I'm so sorry Evan..I should've watched where I was going..." Artemis apologized "n-no I'm sorry Arti..I was distracted..." Evan said as he looked down. You see, ever since Evan turned 15, he got a job as one of Artemis's servants, but soon he got a bunch of hate because most of Artemis's servants were girls. And all the female servants got jealous of all the special treatment he got from Artemis.
"Hey, so maybe if you're not busy in another meeting, we could hang out! you know... like we used to...but we don't have to-" Evan was cut off by the others voice "yea of course we can" Artemis said with a shade of red spreading across his face as he pulled Evan in a hug. Evan smiled and wrapped his arms around Artemis's neck as he rested his head on his chest, Evan could hear Artemis's heartbeat "Artemis..I think you should know that-". " ARTI, YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR ANOTHER MEETING!" damn it. The voice of Eleanor from across the hallway ruined the moment, again. Artemis loved her but oh. my. god. can't she give him some god damn space?! "C-coming! Im sorry Evan, what did you want to tell me?" he asked "oh..um...its nothing, forget about it" he said and walked away and Artemis felt his heart shatter into a million pieces and he tried his best not to cry. He angerly made his way beside his sister to go to this stupid meeting, he pasted Eleanor clearly angry but she shoved it off.
He entered the room and sat down at his seat. Everyone has their own seat, Artemis's sits Infront of Eleanor. He waited until everyone was seated. But there was three people that had entered the room that seemed unrecognizable to Artemis, he tried not to stare to much at them and focused his attention to his sister. He stared at Eleanor with some anger, his stare slowly turning into a glare, he didn't want to hurt her feelings, even with only a simple expression with his face but sometimes he couldn't control his emotions. He tried, he really did but sometimes he couldn't keep acting like he was okay, but if he wasn't "ok" then he was no good. The silence filled the room quickly until Eleanor had broken it, " Artemis, this is princess Alexandra Valentine, princess of Soul Empire ,and her father, Cedrick Valentine". He looked at her confused "Alexandra, This is my younger brother, Artemis Saint, the prince of Dynasty Kingdom" she turned to the brunette haired and blue eyed woman. "Im confused, Eleanor, what's going on?" Artemis asked as nicely as possible, keeping the fake smile on his face, and trying not to yell at the top of his lungs. "Brother, Alexandra is your future wife, Your marriage will be able to mix together the two of the most powerful kingdoms in the world" and just like that his heart dropped to his chest , his fake smile faded completely. The girl also looked uncomfortable but he was to filled with rage to pay attention.
"WHAT?! NO! I BARELY KNOW THIS GIRL!" Artemis argued and Eleanor tried his best to reason with him "Arti.. Please, this is better for the kingdom.. " she said with a calming voice. "THEN WHY DON'T YOU MARRY HER?!" Artemis yelled back at her and she scoffed "she is far younger than me, Arti. Your testing my patience" Artemis rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "I'M NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO A STUCK UP PRICK-" he was cut off "ARTEMIS SAINT. YOU ARE GOING TO MARRY THIS WOMAN AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT." Eleanor snapped and Artemis's eyes widened. He had never seen his sister like this and he wanted to say something but instead tears filled his eyes and stormed out. But Eleanor tried to stop him and apologize, instead she just cleared her throat and went back to the princess to make the wedding plans.
Artemis soon reached the door, as soon as he opened it he saw Evan, his eyes were pink and puffy. Evan had been listening to their conversation the whole time and his eyes widened when he saw Artemis and tried to run away. Artemis watched him run across the hallway but was to shocked to go after him and stop him, he just watched him as more tears fell from his eyes. He decided that he had enough, he was going to escape this hell hole tonight, no matter what it take to do it. There might be another way more logical plan but his freedom is literally being sold away to some woman he meet less than five minutes ago! Plus his heart...Clearly belonged to someone else, He made his way to his room and waited until midnight, he refused to talk to Eleanor the whole night and had to fight the urge of checking up on Evan. He knew that he was going to leave him but the sooner he forgot about Artemis, the better.

1:00 am.
Artemis only needed one luggage bag since he didn't wear a lot of clothes, he just rewashed the same ones over and over again. He grabbed the rope from the weapon room and made his way back to his room to escape from the window. He turned to look at the room one last time to take in the memories he was going to have to leave behind. The reason he had to is because every male who is married looses all his freedom, trapped in a castle for the rest of his life. He threw his luggage out his window, hoping nobody heard the loud thump. Then he tied the rope to the pole holding up his bed, and slowly climbed out of his room, trying his best not to get rope burn. It took about half an hour to get down but the hard part was over, now he just needed to sneak past his security guards that are already super bad at their jobs. He started walking until he heard a voice and froze "Where do you think you're going?".
Evan's voice.
He turned to find Evan leaning on the stone castle wall.Evan walked up to him and crossed his arms, dry tear stains on his cheeks. He walked up to Artemis and glared at him with his puffy eyes."What The Hell do you think you're doing?!" He raised his voice at Artemis a bit and paused for a moment to wipe his tears. "My freedom is literally being sold away to a random woman I just met! Plus we both know you would be better off without me.." Artemis looked down, afraid to meet the others eyes. "I wouldn't be better off! Artemis..I NEED you.." he begged with his eyes and Artemis rolled his eyes "prove it" he joked.
Evan was taken back by what he said, then his eyes were filled with determination and he stepped closer to Artemis "fine." He said and Artemis was confused. Evan kissed Artemis passionately as he wrapped his hands around his neck. Artemis was taken back but soon gave in and wrapped his arms around Evan's waist, their tongues fought for dominance as Evan played with Artemis's hair. Evan pulled away but Artemis pulled him back into the kiss, he was waiting for this ever since he was 15, there's no way he was going to let this end so soon. Evan's eyes widened but kissed him back once again, Artemis turned the passionate kiss into a rough one, they both had a metallic taste in their mouths, realizing Artemis had drawn blood from Evan's lip.
He promised he'd be more gentle next time.
"Take me with you...I don't want to leave you.." Evan insisted and Artemis nodded as he took his hand and they left, they wanted to leave all of this behind.
