Lyra's POV
I packed my bag as Kili laid in bed, his bare chest visible to me. I came towards him with a light blush and kissed him deeply.

"Do you have to go?" He whispered.
"Yes...Thranduil has an army that is to attack Erebor, so I'll get some defences to fight."
"Come back to me..."
"I will." I grasped his runestone in my hand. Then I placed a ring on his finger. He looked down.
"What's this?"
"A crystal made of stardust from the Lyra constellation. It was given to me when I was born, by a great elf of whom I don't recall. It will keep you safe."

"So it's a piece of you?" He looked at me.
"Yes." I smiled and twirled his hair around my fingers."Keep it safe, please...if I-"
"Stop there, don't ruin the moment, azyungal." Kili smirked, so I chuckled.
"I'll be back." I then grabbed my bag and walk to the door. I looked back and smiled sadly to him.
"I love you, my reckless prince."
"I love you, my star." He smiled. I opened the door and took a deep breath, then walked out.

Thorin's POV
I sat in my gold, my jewel is still not found! I then walked through the halls, then heard coos of a baby. A door was cracked open and I looked into it, Pema walked around the room bouncing and rocking her and Fili's child. Fili sat on the edge of the bed, a worried and troubled look on his face.
"Calm down, my love. It'll be alright."
"If the Elvenking does come, what of us?"
"Sh...come, hold your son." Pema said gently, so Fili smiled and went to them.
I looked back as I heard light footsteps. But nothing was there, so I walked back to my gold.

~hours later~ [A/N: the previous part was like...at dawn, so now it's like 6 am]

Everyone was up. Thranduil and his men had come. I was in the jewelry room and smiled as I saw specific white jewels atop of a diamond pile [a/n: bro...why don't Thran just take 'em diamonds and forget about the necklace?]

"The white gems of Laskalan," I smirked smugly,"I know an Elvenking who'll want his hands on these." I threw them back down onto the diamond pile [is he for real? Sorry, I have too much commentary...back to the story]

I then went back to my gold.

Pema's POV
I sighed and put Vili down for a nap, then heard an odd noise. I looked around and saw nothing, so I got a bit wary. I then started to walk to the door, but a shadowy figure blocked me.

"Help me.."

I backed away and blocked Vili.

"Help me.."
"With what? Why? Who are you?" I said shakily, the room started to get cold...

[a/n: like in Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban (my fave) how they're in their little room/car/thingy on the train.]

They let out a strained scream and vanished. I breathed heavily with wide eyes and the heat came back to the room. Oh god, he's back.

Kili's POV [yeah, there's a lot of POV stuff in this]

I searched in the gold and sighed. This damned Arkenstone better be worth the work! I looked to Fili, who was a few feet under my hill. He looked exhausted. I slid down to him and tumbled.
"Ow..." I scrunched my nose, making everyone chuckle.
"What is it, brother?"
"I just came to check on you. How ya doin'?"
"Fine, go back to work before Uncle sees you."
I just laughed and flipped a coin back into the pile.

"Kili!" I heard uncle bellow. I ducked my head in fear, oh boy...
I walked to him and he pulled me away.
"Where's Lyra?"
"She needed to go somewhere."
"Is she with Thranduil?"
"No. She was a bit hot, then got a message from her people that someone was burning Fangorn."
"So this has to do with her health?"
"I believe so, uncle."
"Alright...get back to work." He shoved me to the gold again. I sighed and fixed my coat. Then began to search once more.

"Thorin!" Bilbo hollered."You must come and see the army, they are surrounding Dale and I believe Bard's on his way."

"To the gate!"
