I was running through the woods being chased by something. I don't know what it was but my body urged me to run. Fast. The hairs on my body standing to attention like a soldier, my heart pounding like bad headache and my legs burning like they are on fire. As the tress sprint past me i look up ahead and see a run down mansion, its all I have so i decide to run in there slamming the door behind me, I look around and find a chest of drawers and push them in front of the door to block whatever was out there from getting in. I hear a bang on the door as I begin to step backwards until I hit something or someone.

A low chuckle emitting from it I spin around and upon seeing what was in front of me I screamed bloody murder. I continued to scream as I turn and ran up the stairs. What the fuck is going on I thought to myself as I bolted down a corridor, I heard manic laughter from behind me and once again I turn to look at the disfigured boy hurling himself down the hall after me. There was a blood red door at the end of the hallway and I opened it closing it once again finding something to block it.

How did I get here? What am I running from? What is that outside the door?

All these thoughts were running through my head then I realised the room was cold, too cold a type of cold that can only indicate something bad was here.

I turned analysing the room it was dark and as my eyes began to adjust I could see a dark figure in the corner. It was just standing there, watching me. It walked slowly forward when it realised I saw it. My voice failed me as I wanted to scream, nothing coming out of my open mouth. I quickly snapped realising I need to fight I can't just be a damsel in distress so frantically looking around the room I saw a lamp and grabbed it.

The person was closer I could see them more it looked to be another boy this time with a black hoodie and blue mask. I couldn't find his eyes behind the mask, it was black. Even with no defining eyes I felt them boar into my soul feeling like it was draining my life. There was a glint in his hand and I look down seeing a scalpel, my eyes hardened but behind them was a terrified kid who just wanted to go home. Once in range he went to swipe but I bounced back easily and seeing that he left his back exposed I brought the lamp down on his back. A groan left his lips as he crumbled to the ground not expecting this, I took the advantage and kneed him in the head before he even had the chance to regain himself. He flew back knocked out , I kicked the scalpel far away from him to make sure that if he wasn't knocked out at least he was weaponless.

There was banging on the door and I looked around to see a window I ran towards it getting ready to open it and jump but I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw it, the thing I was originally running from. Static erupted from my head and I collapsed clutching my head screaming.

I jolted up from my bed breathing heavily, it was just a dream. I turned my lights on and took in my surroundings making sure nothing was lurking in the darkness.

Nothing.

Sweat was dripping down my forehead and my whole body was shaking. The more I started to think about the dream the less I remembered and before I knew it I couldn't even remember what I was so scared of. I ran a frustrated hand through my now sweaty hair and let out a loud sigh. I grabbed my phone to look at the time, 7:30. There wasn't much point in going back to sleep and so I decided to just get up I opened my curtains and stared outside for a couple of seconds looking all over. I don't know why I did this but I was looking for something.

Once satisfied nothing was there I turned and decided to shower again since my body was caked in sweat. I took off my clothes and threw them in my washing basket and slipped into the shower once again letting the warm water wash over my face. I stayed in there for only 10 minutes before getting out and drying myself off. I looked at my wardrobe trying to decide what I wanted to wear and finally settled for some black mom jeans, a oversized dark purple jumper, some grey vans and got changed and then dried my hair before straightening it.

I grabbed my phone, 7:45. I opened my phone and turned off my alarm and looked through my social media, replying to different messages and just looking through posts. My first lecture was at 9 so I decided that I would go to the campus cafe and get some food and coffee so I packed all my stuff I would need for my classes and put them into my bag including my laptop and left my room.

Most people wouldn't be up yet or still in their rooms as they mostly had their morning lessons online but because I did a sports course mine were in person as they involved a lot of practical work. I texted one of my flatmates that does the same course as me that I was going to the cafe and I would meet them at our first class as we usually walked there together. I walked down the stairs and finally left the accommodation using my key card.

The cold air hit my face and I wished that I had an extra jacket to cover my body, it was October after all I should have known better but I still powered on. The walk wasn't far about 5 minutes but it felt longer most of the time. The sky was once again grey and dreary, not to mention fucking cold. I crossed my arms in front of me to bring myself warmth and comfort and trudged forward. I had a weird feeling of being watched as I walked, I felt really nervous but it didn't last too long once I finally reached the universities parade as there were many people around all chatting and some even running seemingly rushing to get somewhere.

I  slowly walked to the cafe which was the other side of the parade, this was definitely going to be a long day I thought to myself as a gust of wind blew through my hair pushing into the front of my face. I angrily moved my hair behind my ears to stop it from blowing everywhere and finally I was at the door to the cafe. I entered and walked to the counter ordering a pastry and coffee in a to go cup. I looked around the cafe as I waited, it was relatively empty considering the time it was usually really busy.

I looked at the different faces recognising some and waving and not recognising others. My eyes lingered on someone sat in the corner of the room obviously not wanting to be seen, they seemed strange, I think it was a boy and they sat oddly still but every once in awhile would twitch violently whether it was their neck or there arm they were seemingly doing nothing. He didn't even have a drink or anything with him, what was he doing here then? I thought to myself before finally being brought out of my thoughts when the lady at the counter brought over my food and drink. I sent her a quick smile before turning and sitting down, I made sure to sit near the person sat in the corner, I don't know why but they intrigued me.

I could get a better look at him now, he was staring out of the window. The boy had brown scruffy hair that seemed to be sticking out all over, a grey mask on and a hoodie that looked really cool I had to admit. I was thinking about going to speak to him but suddenly I felt my phone vibrate, I pulled it out to see that my flatmate replied to my text saying okay. When I looked back up the boy was gone, I looked to the door to see where he was and I saw him just as he disappeared out of view. I simply shrugged before grabbing my phone again. My eyes widened shit class will start soon so I grabbed my things and sprinted out of the cafe running towards my lecture room.
