Chapter 8

A week has passed since the incident of the Hotel. Paris was punished and scolded for that entire week. They gave her extra training, hoping that she had learned her lesson this time. As for the culprit, it's still unknown who he was. There were still investigating.

It was afternoon, and all the bodyguards were assigned to make a straight line, outside the entrance of the Mansion. It seemed like they were waiting for someone important.

Not understanding what was going on, Paris asked Pearl, who was standing next to her. "What happened? Why are we all standing in a line?"

Pearl turned her head to face her, and answered, "Today, the minor family is having a meeting here."

"The minor family? I think I've heard of them before. Isn't that the Mafia Leader's brother?" Paris tilted her head to a side.

"You're right. He comes once a month to have a meeting with the major family. He is a VIP guest here since he is part of the family." Pearl explained.

"Well, that's good. Two families helping each other out." Paris replied.

Pearl thought about it for a moment, and shook her head. "Hm, I wouldn't say that exactly."

"Why?" Paris perked a brow.

"Well..." Pearl was about to explain, but she noticed two white vehicles coming. "I'll tell you later. They are here now."

The vehicles halted at the entrance. Paris turned her head over to take a look. "Damn, the cars are freaking cool!"

Pearl thump her on the shoulder. As if to tell her that it was not the time to fool around. "Shh."

The first person stepped out of the first car. That was the Leader's brother. The head of the minor family. All bodyguards bowed their heads at him as he entered the mansion with a 'not a very happy' expression on his face. Paris followed along, and bowed too. So, this was Kai's Uncle.

The second person stepped out of the second vehicle soon after. This car was the closest to where Paris and Pearl where standing. Therefore, they had a better view of this person. It was a tall young lady, around her twenties. Light-blonde hair, green emerald eyes, pale skin. Wearing a white tuxedo suit, with white pants. She gave out the impression that she was a powerful person. That she could crush you at any moment.

As she was on her way to the front doors, her gaze shifted towards where they were standing, causing Paris to have goosebumps all over. Why did she had to have such penetrating eyes. It felt like she could read you from top to bottom.

The woman then gave them a smirk, before entering the mansion along with some bodyguards that followed behind her. Those where probably the bodyguards from the minor family.

"Who is that woman?" Paris whispered to Pearl, with curiosity.

"That is Ms. Venus. She's the oldest daughter of the minor family. She has a younger brother, named Michael." Pearl explained in a low voice.

'Oh, so these are Kai's cousins. It's nice to know more interesting things about her. She isn't a complete boring person afterall. At least, she has an interesting family.' Paris thought to herself as she nodded. She then proceeded to ask, "Who did she smile at, by the way?"

Pearl shrugged, "How am I supposed to know? She can be very complicated to understand."

Paris stared at Pearl for a moment, and then gave her a smirk. "I think she was smiling at you. Perhaps she thought that you were cute."

Hearing this, Pearl couldn't help but to blush a bit. Her ears and cheeks instantly turning darker as she covered her mouth with her fingers. "Paris, how could you say such thing?" She mumbled, feeling shy.
