"Here, Ms. Venus." Said a male bodyguard from the minor clan, handing a large grocery bag to Venus. "I bought all the ingredients from the list you gave me."

Venus took a quick glimpse inside of the bag to check if everything she asked for was there before she put everything down on the kitchen counter. Her lips curved up slightly. She was smiling to herself. "Thank you. You may now leave. If I need anything else, I'll let you know."

The bodyguard bowed his head politely and then went outside to continue to guard the safe-house. He didn't know if it was his imagination or not, but Venus had been recently in a very good mood. Which is quite bizarre from her. The leader of the minor family hasn't come to scold her in the past few days. Perhaps that could be the reason why she has been smiling to herself a lot recently.

The entire safe-house was soon invaded by the sweet and savory aroma of the dish that Venus was starting to cook with the ingredients that were brought to her. She was staring down at her phone, reading the recipe while at the same time cutting up a few red chili peppers on the wooden board with a sharp knife.

Venus was really concentrated on what she was doing, making sure that she was following everything from the recipe correctly. She couldn't help but to cough and sneeze a few times by the strong and spicy smell of the red chilies that were now being combined with other ingredients on a heating pan.

When she finished cooking, she served the dish on a plate. It was only enough for one person to eat, which was technically the point. Venus didn't like 'spicy curry'. She was only making it because Pearl had asked for it long ago, and she wanted to indulge her this time with something she likes to eat.

Venus bent down a little to sniff the spicy curry in front of her. It smelled exquisite indeed. She was satisfied with the final result and couldn't wait to see Pearl's reaction when she sees that her favorite dish has been cooked today. She will probably jump of excitement just like a pet getting a treat.

From a cabinet, Venus took out two spoons, and with one, she tried a little of the spicy curry, just to give it a taste. There had to be a reason why Pearl liked it so much, right?

As soon as she placed the spoon inside of her mouth, that's when she witnessed heaven and hell right in front of her eyes. Her tongue felt like it was set on fire. It was way too spicy! What the fuck!

Venus covered her mouth and coughed a few times before drinking a mouthful of water from a bottle. To be frank, it was delicious, but not enough for Venus to handle the spiciness. Pearl would most definitely enjoy it though.

Without wasting anymore time, Venus picked up the plate and the clean spoon, and was about to head upstairs when she suddenly heard the entrance door opening abruptly.

Pearl who was upstairs in the bedroom could already sniff the fresh aroma of the dish from there. She has eaten it countless times in the past, and she could immediately tell that it was spicy curry. One of her favorite dishes. She couldn't believe that Venus had actually prepared it for her. Didn't she complain the other day that she dislikes spicy food? What made her change her mind all of a sudden?

Venus has been acting very strange lately, but Pearl didn't mind this change of behavior. It was ten times better than to receive a beating from her. This side of Venus is tender and kind, and Pearl couldn't complain about it.
