The week went by swiftly, and it was the beginning of a new one. Which meant that it was time for the plan to finally take place. Paris and Venus secretly contacted each other a lot for the past few days, trying to organize themselves for what was about to come next.

Paris reached out to her uncle to set the time, date, and location where they will meet with him to settle a formal conversation. Venus had collected the ten thousand dollars from her bank account, placing it all in a backpack to later give it to the uncle that will exposed all the information he knew to them. Everything was ready.

The whole story behind the death of Paris' parents was soon going to be revealed and Paris couldn't wait to be enlighten. She was tired of being deceived again and again by the mafia leader of the major family. It was evident that he couldn't be trusted. The picture that her uncle sent her the other day was enough evidence to convince her. The image spoke louder than all the false bullshit that have been said.

The head of the major family thought that she wouldn't see through his masquerade, but no, Paris was not an idiot. She knows that he has been bluffing all along just to clean his own hands. But no matter how long it takes, the truth will always come to light, and that man will have to face the consequences himself.

This man was Kai's father, but that didn't mean that Paris needed to become a fool for him. She was not a puppet with strings that he could control. Maybe he has succeeded to delude others, but not her.

This was like a chess game to him. He likes to control the rules of the game so that everything falls to his favor. But this was a trap that Paris was not going to fall for anymore. She didn't want that man to be part of her life, and was determined to end this little game of his before it's too late. She needed to win no matter what.

These days Paris has been distancing herself more from Kai because she didn't want her to know about the plan she had with Venus. She knew that Kai wouldn't understand even if she tried to explain things to her. She was going against the mafia leader, and Kai would definitely oppose to that.

Let's not forget to mention the hatred that Kai has towards Venus. If she ever figures out that Paris is working together with her, she will for sure get enraged and murder Venus without thinking it twice. Paris was not going to risk it. It was better to keep things as a secret for the meantime.

It was morning and Kai had woken up not that long ago. She was currently in a phone call with Kyle who had called her to inform her about a few things regarding to the company.

"Wait, hold on a minute. Let me process this. Are you saying that father wants to suddenly place you in a higher position in the company without giving you a reason or a choice?" Kai asked, completely baffled by what was just told to her. She was sitting on the bed, still wearing her black pajamas, and her hair was disheveled from just waking up.

The gruff voice of Kyle sounded in the other end of the call, "Yes, that's exactly what I said. I had a meeting with him last night and he told me that he needed my help in the company because he trusts in me, or whatever. But I already have a busy life myself, and I don't want another big responsibility like this one. I don't know what to do. I agreed with him just because he didn't give me a choice, but I don't actually want to do this. I don't like getting involved with the company."

Kai let out a deep sigh before speaking, "I don't know what the hell is happening in this house. Paris and Parker have disappeared all of a sudden. And now you're telling me that father is forcing you to work for the company? What does all of this mean?"
