"Marie she did it again."
"Oh Jesus, she needs to stop this shit."
"Well you tell her that, you know her better."
I groaned and just ignored my two dorm mates as I kept sleeping.
"Hey!" Marie, my best friend, said sitting on my bed. "Get up!"
"No," I groaned rolling over. I was hanging off my bed, my head pounding from my hangover.
"Get up, you're gonna get in trouble if you miss another class. They'll probably kick your ass out this time." I sighed, knowing she was right.
"Okay," I mumbled.
"Get up and clean your room, it reeks of alcohol. "
I heard Marie and Chloe walk out of my room. It was our second year of college and my emotional issues, which led to my drinking, weren't getting any better.
I sighed and dragged myself out of a tangle of purple sheets. I grabbed my iPhone and plugged it in to the iHome I had in my bathroom. I put on my "special music" and waited for the complaints.
"Turn that shit off!" Marie shouted, banging on my bathroom door.
"No!" I called back.
"That's not music! That sounds like people dying!" She shouted at me before kicking the bathroom door and slamming my bedroom door, just to try and muffle the sound. I smirked and turned my attention to the warm water that was running over my skin. It washed away the smell of Guinness along with the smell of despair, even if only for a few minutes.
When I climbed out of the shower I pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans with a plain black tee shirt. I put on my black Doc Martens before blow drying my hair and straightening it so it hung like a black curtain around my face.
I walked out into the kitchen and saw Chloe sitting at the table while Marie got a bowl of cereal.
"Here," Marie said, sliding the bowl at me as soon as I sat down. "Eat," she commanded.
"Oh look at the time," I said, looking at my phone, "I have to clean out my room and run to class." I grabbed a black garbage bag and ran in my room, grabbing between 30 to 40 bottles that I'd collected over the last week and a half. I tied up the bag and threw it in the garbage before grabbing my little sandwich bag some apple slices in it and throwing it in my book bag. I grabbed my black jacket that looked like leather and pulled it on before pulling on my black book bag and running out the door with my keys in hand.
On my way to the building where my class was taking place, I ran into the only other person on the whole damn campus that I talked to. Her name is Ashlyn and she looks just like every other girl here. Short, pale, ginger hair. But for some reason, I actually liked her, even if she was a bit bubbly for my taste.
"Hey Jess!" She chirped in her Irish Accent. I gave her a small smile.
"Hi Ashlyn," I sighed.
"Who died?" She asked before giggling.
"My sobriety," I said before laughing with her. "So, what'd I miss yesterday?"
"Not much," she said truthfully. "Nothing you can't catch up on. Basically you have to describe your perfect world."
"Good thing I have 'Imagine' memorized," I said, thinking of John Lennon's song. Ashlyn giggled.
"Also we have a new student coming in today. And he's not Irish."
