(Announcement 1: Hello everyone, wow it's been a while! I am putting a note here to warn you of heavy gore at the very end of this. It is necessary and likely the only instance of heavy gore in this story, however I am putting this TW here for those sensitive to it! If you cannot read gore please message me and I can sum up this chapter for you. And with that being said, enjoy!)

(Announcement 2: Hello. I know this story has been published on NovelWW/NovelHD, and possibly other sites. I just want to say that if this story is not on Wattpad or AO3...the poster is not me, TheHostyToasty/The_Hosty_Toasty. Please read this on those official websites. Anyways, enjoy the story.)

Jesse must have seen the panicked look on my face turn to utter terror because he gripped my arms and felt my forehead. "You don't have a temperature- you look like you've seen a ghost, what the hell's the matter!?" His voice cracked as he began to panic too.

"You look different...you don't look like you, you look like Brian! Or Brain- looks like- you? I don't- you look like twins minus the hair and beard and- and-"

"You're not making any sense, take deep breaths and try to calm down. Okay? And speak slower for goodness sake!" I couldn't tell if his expression was anger, fear, sadness, or what. His face looked blank, generic, and not like the man who hit me with his van all that time ago. His hair was now very messed up, his hair tie having snapped during all that ruckus. It hung all in his face and obscured a lot of defining features. Who I figured to be Brian was sitting on a green bean bag, flipping through a book of addresses. Again, I could not register his expression, but judging by his trembling hands and his sweating he was panicking.

"This is my fault- I shouldn't have taken the stupid job in the woods-" He was saying to himself as Jesse whipped his head around to look at him. "Stop feeling so damn sorry for yourself and find a hospital near here!" I could hear the panic in his voice. I could see a tear on his cheek. Brian fumbled with the book, pages nearly tearing with how hard he was flipping through the book. Finally, he shouted "Got it!" as he did indeed rip this one out and shove it into Jesse's hand.

Jesse ran to the driver's seat, not even buckling in as he made the faulty engine roar to life again. He immediately began to speed off, Brian and I being thrown back. I ended up accidentally using his body as a landing pad, hitting my head again. S'mores didn't even budge from his sleeping spot, which was a very squished polka-dotted beanbag. Just kinda opened one eye as Brian pushed me off of him and sprinted to the passenger's seat.

"Do you want to hit someone else?! Slow down, man! She's-"

"Don't you dare say she's fine!" Jesse screamed, making Brian shut up. "You don't know her and you got us into this mess in the first place, so sit down and shut up!" This wasn't like him at all. It kind of scared me but also...it was kind of heartwarming in an odd way. He cared about me, and even if he was yelling at a total stranger about it...he cared. He cared about me and that's all I could have ever wanted. And pretty soon, I felt myself drift into unconsciousness.

"How is she?!" I screamed back to my blond companion, my teeth grit and the sweat running down my face like a waterfall. My knuckles were white as I gripped the steering wheel, almost as if my life depended on it. I couldn't exactly look back at them just yet.

"Uh- she- smacked her head again, she's unconscious-"

"What?! Just- make sure you keep her safe, Brian!" I shouted at him and glanced in my rearview mirror, and saw him cradle Darla in his arms, keeping her head against his shoulder. She was forming a bruise on her head, and her eyes were shut. Hair all in her face. That image scared me, it really looks like she was...was...no I can't let those thoughts plague me, I was about to miss this turn. I jerked the wheel to the left, hearing stuff rattling and falling behind me.
