I swished my tail through the water, grinning as the water rushed around me. I felt so alive. I rushed up to the surface and leaped out of the water, the salty wind whipping my cheeks and my wet hair. I dove back into the water and slowed my pace as I approached the dock. I came up to the surface and held on to the wooden dock.

"How was that for a performance?" I asked, smirking up at Finn. He chuckled.

"I must say, that was impressive. But I could do that 10 times better. Sleeping," he said with a confident grin, crouching down to look me in the eyes.

"Is that a challenge, Okeanos?" I taunted him. "Alright, great and elite Okeanos, let's not let your family down," I said, emphasizing his name for dramatic effect. His eyes sparked with the words: challenge accepted. He dove into the water. I pulled myself onto the dock and sat, letting my tail remain in the water.

"Ready Cari?" he asked when he swam out far enough. I flashed a thumbs up, and he dove deep down into the sea until I can't make out his figure anymore.

Then he swam up quickly and did a triple backflip in the air. He landed with a big splash, but he wasn't done yet. Finn dove down again. When he leapt out of the water, he twisted and moved his tail so when he landed, he splashed water all over me. I put my hands in front of my face and gasped.

He is so going to pay for that.

He came up to the surface, moved his wet loose brown curls off his face, and laughed.

"That was so unnecessary," I said, crossing my arms over my stomach.

"You're already wet, what's a little water going to do?" he asked, his pearly whites glimmering in the sun.

"That was not just a little water."

He rolled his eyes.

I looked up at the sun. It was almost at the tip of the tallest hill on the small island we were next to. Time to head back.

"It's getting late, we should head back," Finn said, glancing at the sun and back at me.

I nodded and slid off the dock.

"I'll race you," I said with a mischievous grin.

He smirked and swam to where I was. At least he's not going to cheat like last time.

"Ready, set..." he started, making sure I'm not ahead of him. "Go!" he shouted, and we were off.

We both raced through the water, making our way to the Cove. I am a really quick swimmer, faster than my peers, but Finn is an Okeanos, so I really have to push myself to make it to the Cove before him.
