There were several moments throughout my life where I had no idea what was going to happen. Where my story was so unfamiliar to me that there was no way to predict what would come next.
That was one of the moments.
Feeling them drag me no matter if they hurt my legs or feet, until they took me to a place completely foreign to me, and sat me on a chair, and then tied me to it, all of that made me realize that I had no idea how it would end.
They took my arms and tied them behind my back, doing the same with my legs to the base of the chair.
My face was still covered by the bag, letting only small fragments of light through the folds of the fabric.
It was already daylight.By the next sunrise I should be on the mountain, to move on to the third test. But that seemed rather unlikely.
To say I was scared was an understatement.
Death didn't scare me as much as the thought of what they might do to me before then.
They uncovered my face and I would have preferred they didn't.
The tall guy was no longer wearing the mask, so I could observe him better.
That was Rascal.
His gaze pierced me wide open. His features were sharp, perfectly drawn on his face. His hair was quite long, but he wore it back, preventing it from covering his face. His large, seemingly strong hands were folded between his arms.
'Good morning, Your Majesty.'
'Where am I, where is Caelus?'
The two questions that seemed most important to me.
As I looked around I realized I was in some sort of abandoned factory. A large room in which only a few wooden tables told that someone had inhabited it at some point. I assumed that if it was a factory, it must be something related to the mills.
Eurus was known for supplying the other kingdoms with energy. That place must have fulfilled that mission at some point. That place where now only my captor and I were.
'Knowing where you are won't do you much good, believe me. And as for your new friend,' he said it with some sarcasm, as if it was impossible for him to believe that Caelus would ally himself with me, 'he's waiting for you, I bet he's looking forward to seeing you.'
I tried to move from the chair, but in vain. I was so tightly bound that all I would achieve would be to fall to the floor and hit my face.
I noticed that my pants were torn from the dragging, and a little blood was emerging from the holes.
I didn't want to hurt myself any more.
There had to be another way out of this.
'Listen to me please, I don't know what you believe about me, but I can assure you...'
