Chapter 11

"Nonononono!! Mystical creatures? Please, they DON'T exist!" Junkai protested.

"But they do.." Kang Wen mumbled, the corner of her mouth lifting into a small smile.

"You're joking right?" Jackson asked pointedly.

He stared at Kang Zhen as the older man stared right back at him.

Kang Zhen's lips parted to let a low rumbling laugh come out of it.

Then Kang Wen dissolved into fits of giggles.

"Of course we're just joking, dummy! There is NO such thing as mystical
creatures!" Kang Wen giggled, holding her stomach in pain.

Junkai crossed his arms over his chest
and turned around to sulk, "I just said that like..a million times!"

Roy, on the other hand, was taking the joke lightly, and burst out laughing along with the man and the girl.

Jackson's face, however, was dark.

"So you're saying...you pranked us. Then what was the reason for you to bring us here? What, do we really look like we're easily fooled?" he asked darkly.

Somehow, something in his face and tone made Kang Zhen scared and he noticed the similarity in Jackson and in...the late king.

"N-no, Prince Jackson." Kang Zhen stammered as he kneeled down, on one leg, bowing his leg.

Jackson let out a breath, calming himself down before he said, "Stop calling me that. Tell us the truth, now."

Kang Wen sighed as she made her father stand once again.

"What we said about you being a prince is true." Kang Wen said.

Jackson opened a mouth to speak but Kang Wen put up a finger, "Ah ah. Let me speak first."

Jackson obliged as Kang Wen continued, "Your late parents were the king and queen. But they passed away because of the Rebels, like we said just now. Karry and Roy were hypnotized by a hypnotist, to forget everything. And you guys spent time together as normal high schoolers-and TFBoys- until now."

Kang Zhen cut in, "We are telling you all this now because the rebels have risen again. They are out to catch you, Prince Jackson, and to dispose of the royalties forever. Because their leader, whom we do not know who it is yet, wants to take the crown. And with you in the way, sir, he knows he'll never get the crown."

Jackson stayed silent for a minute while Karry and Roy gaped at Kang Zhen.

"So you're saying there are people out to kill me." Jackson said slowly.

Kang Zhen nodded.

"And those people can be anyone."

Another nod.

"Which means it could be you too."

Another nod. When Kang Zhen realized he nodded, he immediately protested, "Sir! I will never do that!"

Looking into his eyes, Jackson noticed the loyalty and honesty in it. The kindness in it.

And Jackson knew that this man would stay by his side no matter what.

Jackson smiled, finally, and then the smile disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

"Is there anything else we need to know?" Karry asked.

Kang Wen nodded, stepping in front of her father, "Yes. Other than rebels, there may be a few other people that are after you."

"Who?" Roy sighed.

All this knowledge was making his head hurt and all he really wanted to do was to go back home and dive under his comfortable covers and fall asleep.

"The dark Knights."

"That name sounds cheesy." Karry burst out laughing.

"Yes but these Knights are NOT cheesy at all. They are 6 men, all really strong and smart, and they are working under the leader of the rebels. But we heard that they have also planned to capture Prince Jackson and take the crown for themselves. Of course, that is only a rumor so we cannot assume it is true."

Kang Wen said all that in a breath, that Roy just stared at her with his mouth agape.

"Close your mouth, Roy. A fly is flying around your head. It's going to enter your mouth no-" Jackson teased.

"Shut it." Roy snapped.

"But we cannot assume that it is false either." Kang Wen said, ignoring Jackson and Roy.

"So..what do we have to do?" Karry asked.

"We are going to train you how to fight." Kang Zhen said.

"But Prince Jackson, we will be teaching you proper etiquette and how the Prince should act and all that. So that when you come of age, you will be the king and will run the kingdom with, of course, your future queen." Kang Wen said.

Her heart squeezed when she said that, as she imagined another girl falling in love with Jackson.

'Get a grip of yourself, Kang Wen! He's royalty! You're just some random girl whose father works under his father! Okay now you're just blabbering- oh shut up Kang Wen!!' Kang Wen shook her head repeatedly.

"Okay. I'm up for this." Karry said with confidence.

"So am I." Roy grinned, cheering with his arms up in the air.

Jackson looked a bit unsure before he sighed and stepped forward, "Alright. I'll do this. But Karry, Roy. Don't treat me differently just because I'm a prince, okay?"

Karry and Roy feigned fright as they bowed, "Y-yes, Prince Jackson."

"Guys!!" Jackson stomped his feet childishly.

"Okay okay! We won't treat you differently because you are still our Jackson." Roy laughed, giving Jackson a noogie.

Jackson smiled.

'At least nothing's going to change.'
