"What? Why are you smiling?" I asked Allison; cheeks sore from grinning.
She shook her head. "Nothing- I've never seen Five this happy before, it broke my heart to see him upset all the time." She replied.
I never really noticed... now and then I'd see the lines in his face disappear, only for a smile to take their place.
"So where is this creep anyway?" I asked her, trying to change the subject, whilst looking at 'Leonards' files.
She pointed to an address at the bottom of a small, scrunched up piece of paper.
"Is Vanya with him?" I asked again. "I'm hoping that's the case." She took in a sharp breath through her teeth.
There was silence... and what seemed like the tenth time in over two days, I was left with my thoughts, my worries, and my doubts.
I had kissed Five freaking Hargreeves. A longer-than-formal kiss, might I add. It was unexpectedly amazing, our lips finally working together, agreeing I should say.
I'm not clear on the reason behind that kiss, to shut me up?
Five's POV
I heard the door open from downstairs.
I was way too busy looking into those beautiful blue eyes, to care who it was.
And honestly? I couldn't be bothered hiding my obsession with her. I assumed everyone knew that I would kill to keep Janessa safe.
"Hm... am I interrupting anything important?" My ass of a sister asked.
I sighed... slowly, and unwilling I moved away from the fragile girl in my arms.
"Nope, nothing too important." I said sarcastically.
I looked back at Janessa, her eyes were lit up, with excitement? Worry? Annoyance?
Some things were still very unclear when it came to her... she was nothing like anyone else I had, had the privilege of meeting... she was unpredictable and free-spirited. Maybe that what draws me in? I never get bored with her. Was that all? Or is there something more to her?
"What? What is it?" I asked Allison, with a tone hinting for her to make her point and move on.
"Nothing really.. it's just I know where Vanya and her boyfriend is staying." She shrugged like it was no big deal.
"Well shit? Let's go then." I started walking towards the stair cases, eager to finish what should have never even started. I stopped when I realized Allison wasn't following me.
"Uhh, actually I was thinking it would be better if Janessa came instead. You know girls to girl? But only if you want?"
I looked back at Janessa. Her expression was blank. And clouds covered her usually animated eyes.
I cleared my throat and whispered her name. She snapped away from her thoughts.
"Oh. Me." She said in realization.
This girl is something else. I rolled my eyes. Trying to hide the amusement that lurked inside them.
She looked at me for approval. I was unsure, but only for a moment. It was hard to let her go, with no one to protect her from the danger she drew in. But then I realized who I was thinking about... it's Janessa. She is strong and capable, she can handle herself.
Besides, Allison is not the worst when it comes to fights.
Okay, that sounds reasonable. Enough.
"Janessa? Would you like to go with Allison to save my sister?" The crease between her eyes formed as she tried to piece together my facade.
"Of course I will go with you." Her sing-song voice called.
Allison nodded and went downstairs to wait for her.
I turned back to look at Janessa. "I don't have to go if you don't want me to." She asked.
I want you to stay...
"Don't be stupid, go and help my sisters."
I'm begging you don't go.
"Okay." She replied with a warm smile, before turning to walk away.
Without thinking I grabbed her wrist.
I pulled her back towards me.
Our lips collided.
Her soft lips against mine. I wanted her closer, this wasn't enough.
After a few seconds she pulled away, but I still held her in a hug, I gently placed a kiss in her forehead before letting her go.
"What was that for?" She asked. "Felt necessary." I replied simply.
I watched her walk away.
For now, that was enough.
Five's POV Over
----------
After a few hours of boring driving, We finally rolled into a worn down, gravel driveway.
"Is this it?" I asked Allison, as we pulled up to the house.
She gave a small shrug.
We hopped out of the small car and slowly walk up the steps to the front door.
I hadn't noticed how windy it was until now. It was odd.
There was sweet, slow music playing from inside.
"Vanya?!" Allison called out, walking faster to find a door. I followed closely behind.
I opened the wooden door slowly, to see Vanya playing the violin.
She was amazing. Allison pushed passed me in a hurry.
"Vanya, there you are. What is going on?" She asked her sister.
We were now both indoors, the wind no longer blowing us over.
"What are you guys doing here?" Vanya asked us in a frantic voice.
"We came to find you. Are you okay?" Allison answered.
"Yeah." The violin girl answered.
"Something weird is going on. What's causing it?" Allison spoke up again.
I decided it was best for me to just lay low, and only speak when spoken to.
"Me."
