The wind razed through my hair. We flew past the clouds, high in the sky. We won. The Witch Council was destroyed. But I wasn't happy. I just saw my father after many years and he turned out to be evil. I saw him die the very same day. Luna noticed and put her hand on my shoulder. I turned my face towards hers and smiled weakly.
"You made the right choice, Rohan." She said. I knew. But it still broke me. What was I going to tell my mother. Maybe nothing. Magic was still forbidden after all. I looked down at the terrain below me.
"Pretty, ain't it?" Aeryn said. I nodded.
"Yes. It's gorgeous." I replied.Virsorrith roared and Aeryn nodded.
"We are almost there!" Aeryn said. My eyes lit up. I was going to see my family again. I was wondering what they would say. Mom would probably say I have changed. And I have. I was a worried, clueless boy who didn't dare to leave Little Ivywood. Now, I was someone who stood up for himself and for others. Someone who was brave and who liked some adventure. Someone who wasn't afraid to fight for what is right. Dana would probably just grab my leg and never let go.
I missed them. I missed them so much.
"Why don't you all stay?" I suddenly asked.
"What?" Aeryn said. I chuckled
"Stay. I am sure my mother would love you all. You wouldn't be alone anymore." I said. Luna clapped her hands.
"I will definitely stay!" She said.
"Me to!" Aeryn said. Virsorrith roared and Aeryn giggled.
"Virsorrith as well." She said. Ixeor sighed.
"I will not. I must return to my mountain. There will be more magical creature who will nee my help." Ixeor calmly said.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes, young Zain. I will come with you to Little Ivywood to drop you of. After that I shall leave." He said.
"How? Will Virsorrith bring you?" Luna asked. Ixeor chuckled.
"I have got some tricks of my own." He said.Virsorrith dived down and safely landed on the ground. We all got of as he transformed back into a human. We all walked the little few miles to my town. Before we entered the town, Ixeor stopped.
"This is where I shall leave you. Take care. You are meant for great things. Every single one of you." He said. With that, he turned around and dissolved in thin air. I smiled.
"Let's go. My mother is probably dying to see us." I said. We continued walking. Every person we passed clapped when they saw us. I just smiled at them and waved. We finally arrived at my home. I was a bit nervous, but I finally knocked. I heard muffled voices in the house before the door flew open. It was Dana. She looked at me with big eyes.
"MOOMMMYYY!" She yelled and my mother came rushing to the door. She gasped when she saw me.
"Hello mom." I said. Mom broke in tears.
"Rohan! Oh my sweet boy." She said as she pulled me in a tight hug.
"Luna, you're here as well. Hello darling." Mom said. She pulled her in a hug as well. Dana was stuck on my leg, as I predicted. I just smiled down at her. She smiled back at me before squeezed her face against my leg.
"And who are these?" Mom asked. I smiled and said:
"These are Virsorrith and Aeryn." I said. Aeryn nervously waved and said hello and Virsorrith shakes my mothers hand. We all went inside. It was a bit hard for me to walk because Dana was still stuck to my leg. We all sat down at our dinner table. Dana finally let go of my leg and ran to her room. I sighed and looked around. It felt like ages since I've been here.
"So, have I missed something?" I asked.
"Not really. Oh wait you did." Mom said.
"What?"
"Well, the King has passed away and his son, Prince Mason, became king. He has already dropped the law against magic!" Mom said. All our jaws dropped.
"Well, then I can tell you all about my journey." I said. My mom quickly grabbed something to drink and gave all her attention to me. Then, I told her everything. I told her about my powers. About Priscilla and Leon. About Ixeor and how we all had magic. About the Witch Council and that Virsorrith was a dragon. And about dad. Tears welled up in my eyes as I told her. Mom was on the edge of crying as well. When I finished my story, we all were silent for a while. Then, my mother stood up and gave me the warmest hug she had ever given me.
"I loved your father. But you have made the right decision. I am just glad you are home safely." She said.
"Um, can I ask you a question, Mom?" I said. She nodded.
"Can Aeryn, Virsorrith and Luna stay here? They have no place to go." I asked. My mom giggled.
"Of course they can!" My mom excitedly said.
"YAY!" Dana yelled from her room. We all laughed. I was so happy to be home. I had a feeling things were never going to be the same and that I will always need to save the world. But that didn't matter to me. I was home with the people I loved most in the whole world. I didn't know my destiny. But I didn't have to. I wouldn't change a thing about who I am and what I am destined to do. It was who I am. It was who I would always be. For eternity.
