anyways so i rewatched the movies again
for the fourth time 😃😃
"but *insert my name here*" you may ask, "didn't you JUST watch the movies like two weeks ago?? isn't it sort of UNHEALTHY to watch them AGAIN?? have you considered that maybe you rely a little too much on the fictional world of lotr for sustenance???"
yes. yes jessica i have considered that. and yes i did rewatch them for the fourth time, and i am in fact aware that i only watched them for the third time two weeks ago.
do i care???? nooooooo
bc i crave serotonin y'all. and my only source of serotonin is hearing cate blanchett's voice say "the world is changed..... i feel it in the earth...." so it was perfectly reasonable to rewatch them okay--
anyways bc i rewatched the trilogy, i now have an excuse to write part 2 of the last last chapter, "lotr and aralas things i've been thinking abt recently"
because i have more to add to this so this is what y'all get for this week's update
anyways let's go
***
- ✨cate mf blanchett✨
okay starting off strong right at the very beginning of the first movie there's cate blanchett like ominously whispering in sindarin like some random words right, and then ofc we jump into the absolutely iconic galadriel voiceover y'all know "i feel it in the earth...... i smell it in the air....." blah blah blah very iconic
I ALWAYS ASSUMED THE ELVISH WORDS AT THE VERY BEGINNING EVEN BEFORE THE VOICEOVER WERE JUST LIKE RANDOM SHIT
LIKE THEY DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING ITS JUST LIKE RANDOM ELVISH PHRASES TO MAKE IT SOUND COOL
BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU GUYS
idk HOW i didn't realize this before, but what she's saying is literally the sindarin translation of the voiceover.
like she says "the world is changed.... i feel it in the water.... i feel it in the earth...." IN SINDARIN and THEN in english.
like is this common knowledge?? did i miss a briefing or some shit???
this seems like such a small thing but i noticed it only this time and i thought it was cool??? istg im the last one to notice it but idk tell me what y'all think
OOO AND ALSO--
the music at the beginning during and before the galadriel voiceover is SO ICONIC, i feel like that needed to be said. like i'd be able to tell it was lotr just from the opening credits music even b4 the violin solo when the actual title comes on screen.
those were my thoughts during the beginning of the movies, let's move on to other stuff now
- appendix a part 5 aka the tale of aragorn and arwen
okay so i pretty recently finished reading the appendices at the back of rotk, abt 2-3 weeks ago
and in case yall dont know (i hope you dont, and if you ever find yourself reading the appendices i strongly recommend skipping this part) there's a bit in appendix a labeled "Part V: The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen" that basically talks more in depth abt their relationship and how they met
and bitches will ofc use this to justify their relationship
and aralas shippers will say screw you he was in love with legolas
AND THIS PART OF THE APPENDICES MAKES NO SENSE BC
A) it doesnt change any of the aralas moments in the trilogy, or change anything i mentioned in the like 3 chapters where i talk abt aralas
