this chapter has been in my head from the beginning

and when i say the beginning i dont mean the beginning of this fic

OH NO NO NOOOO

i mean since i first watched the movies in like 2019 (before the panorama 😲🤯) and i FULLY (FULLY) expected éowyn to remain single in the finale of rotk

SO IMAGINE MY ABSOLUTE DISGUST AND SHOCK

WHEN THIS ICONIC SWORD WIFE

i had so many thoughts

i still DO have so many thoughts

so lets rants abt this bs

***

ok so i feel like i should start this by saying that my problem with this ship is NOT faramir himself bc hes NOT a bad character at all and he DID give us one of the most iconic lines of lotr ("I do not love the arrow for its swiftness, etc., etc.") so lets not UNDERMINE our local soft boi™ faramir, k??

HOWEVER

the fact that i dont hate faramir as a character (tho i defo wouldnt say i STAN him like a lot of people in the fandom do *AHEM* bottoms *AHEM*) doesnt do anything abt the fact that i DO hate him as one side of a SHIP with our iconic sword wife™ éowyn

its the same thing with like loki and sylvie from the MCU--I LOVE loki and i STAN sylvie but SIX FEET APART OKAY YALL COVID

i didnt ask for them to be in a relationship, i didnt need that in my life, and i defo DO NOT need farawyn (i cant even SAY that ship name with vomiting in my mouth) to be a thing

now that thats said let me say WHY i actually hate this ship so much

1) éowyn gave up EVERYTHING she believed in for faramir

lets start with the canon, okay, not the theories, not the opinions, no exaggerations, just straight facts so NO ONE can disagree with this part of this rant, right?
