arwen x éowyn?!? who i ship sword wife with + fic recs

hey i'm back

i'm not even gonna apologize for being three days late with this chapter (edit, a while after writing this: okay i lied yes i am i'm so sorry) because it has been a WEIRD WEEK.

i'm pretty sure i've made passing references to this before but as well as lotr my two other biggest fandoms are marvel and stranger things (at least as of rn) and all three of my biggest fandoms are literally collapsing in on themselves rn

the marvel fandom is losing their minds over the phase 5 and phase 6 announcements at SDCC 
the stranger things fandom is losing their minds of the season 5 announcements and vol2 (still)
and ofc the lotr fandom is losing their minds because of the new SDCC rings of power trailer

(here it is for reference i posted my initial reaction in my wattpad convos and it is JUST--)

so obviously both fandom-wise and personally (which i'm not gonna get into) its been a WEEK.

but i promised a chapter on arwen x éowyn, lothiriel x eowyn and essentially who i ship her with last time and i am nothing if not a woman of my word

this is gonna be a more casual chapter written in the style of my legolas x boromir cursed ships chapter, (which was one of my fav chapters to write), i'm gonna recommend a few aralas fics bc i have some new ones that ive been obsessing over in addition to the éowyn stuff

SO the éowyn ships i'll be talking abt in this chapter are arwen x éowyn and lothiriel x éowyn

one i'm neutral on and one i ship; try to guess which is which

there's also obviously faramir x éowyn, but i've talked about how much i despise that ship on multiple occasions so there's no reason to have it in here

anyways let's start with the first one

-- arwen x éowyn (neutral)

so i don't know how or when this ship first came into fruition and became popular but by now it's been pretty well established

if you read any lotr fic where éowyn isn't the main focus (we'll use aralas as an example, obviously) éowyn is either gonna be a) happily married to faramir (bleh) b) single or c) with arwen

and if not the latter arwen is either a) staying at the citadel for whatever reason b) already sailed or c) in love with someone else, most likely an oc of the author

i don't think i've ever seen a fic where arwen x éowyn is the main focus, they're literally the epitome of a background ship.

HOWEVER i do think they work together

i mean it's two gaslight gatekeep girlbosses (arwen in the movies and in my headcannon, éowyn in general) who both fell in love with the same guy who couldn't love them back bc he's gay and in love with legolas and ✨boom✨

they have a lot to bond over

i just feel like they'd work, they're cute, yk? like éowyn is most likely illiterate, since most people in rohan were and she's the epitome of a dumb jock, arwen is overly literate (probably fluent in both quenya and sindarin since she lived in lorien for so long) so they could have cute little study seshes in the library at either rivendell or rohan like aHKLhdlahrawegguawuifgawuigiawug
