We get into our cars and head to the hospital. Stefano and Lina are driving our car right now and I'm in the back with Vincenzo and my mom who is holding Estella on her lap.
I grip their hands tightly and control my breathing. Vincenzo holds me against him and rubs my back.
"Fucking A." Stefano mutters and presses down on the horn.
"I'm not giving birth to twins in the back of this car!" I groan and wince.
"We'll get there." Vincenzo soothes my hair. "Stay calm."
"I am fucking calm!" I shout at him. "Sorry." I tell him and he kisses my temple and I feel the babies moving inside of me. "Patience." I mutter to them.
Estella lets out a cry as she looks at me and mom tries to calm her down.
"You want to go to papa?" Mom asks her and Estella is already reaching for Vincenzo as Stefano speeds through traffic.
Vincenzo bounces Estella on his knee and I almost scream.
"Hurry." Vincenzo says.
"Vincenzo." I breathe and rest my head on his chest and intertwine our fingers.
"I'm right here." He smiles. "So is Estella, ok?" I nod and he kisses me.
"We're here!" Stefano shouts. About a week ago they were at this same hospital when Nico was born.
Mom takes Estella and the rest of the family pull up behind us. Vincenzo holds me around my waist and I squeeze his hand.
"Stefano, get a wheelchair." Vincenzo tells his cousin and he's already running off. "How's the pain?" He cups my face and I breathe heavily.
"A lot." I wince and Stefano brings the wheelchair and Vincenzo pushes me in. When we get into the room he helps me change out of my dress and into the hospital gown. "It hurts." I groan.
"I know, amore." He cups my cheek and kisses my temple again. This is really happening. I'm about to give birth... to twins.
