The Child Of Loki (Book 2)

CHAPTER NINE

We are now back in the jet preparing to leave Virginia. I was sitting beside Nat and again looking outside through the window thinking on how will I be able to fix everything. They might be a chance that Bucky might got caught and possibly putting all the blame on him about something that he never did in the first place. Whoever is behind all of this, their only goal might not only to set Bucky up but also to tear the Avengers apart.

"Aya, Aya!" I heard someone's calling, breaking me out of my head. I look over at Nat, she was looking at me.

"Yeah? you were saying something?" I asked realizing that she is maybe talking to me.

"Have you talk to Steve?" she asked

"No, I haven't. Why? something's the matter?" I asked though I know fully well why is she asking me that. She knows that Steve might go after Bucky, and if he did that everything will be worse that it already is.

"I think you know why" she said now starting the engine and preparing the jet to take off. I once again turn my gaze outside the window. 

"Nat, I don't think I'll be able to stop Steve to whatever he is planning right now" I answered still not taking off my eyes outside. I felt the jet slowly lifting. To be honest, there's a part of me that don't want to stop Steve and there's also a part of me that want to just for the sake of everyone. Once my dad and Rhodey will hear this, they might go after Steve. 

After a few minutes, we have arrived. I look around and noticed something.

"This is not the tower" I said still looking around. Nat just chuckles.

"That's what you get for not listening to me and spacing out" She said then walking off. I followed her. "We are in Berlin. They caught him. Steve along with Sam and apparently the prince of Wakanda are all in custody" she continue still walking. This is what I have been thinking about. Could the situation now could get any worse?

"You say the prince? why is he in custody?" I asked, once again she chuckles.

"Again, not listening. I told you, Steve, Sam and T'Challa got into a fight because of Bucky. Now they are being detained" She said. We arrived in a building then the men in question are all walking with soldiers on their side. In front of them is Everette Ross, the deputy task commander and Sharon Carter, she's Peggy Carter's niece also she's a shield agent. We walk along them, Natasha beside Steve and I beside Natasha.

"For the record, this is what making things worse looks like" Nat said. 

"He's alive" Steve said, Nat didn't say anything and proceed walking. I remained quiet.  

"No. Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. And, Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup." I heard a voice said then I saw my dad talking to his phone. Nat look back at Steve and Sam.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this." she said while walking off. I was about to follow her when I look at my dad. He was looking at me and when he noticed that I was looking at him he turn his gaze towards Steve and Sam.

"Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences." He said still looking at Steve while walking towards them. he took his off of Steve and continue talking " Obviously you can quote me on that 'cause I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir." 

"'Consequences'?" Steve asked while Sam was just looking at dad. I was still standing between them but a far. Preparing myself if ever they started a fight. Not that I want them to fight but I was trying to avoid extra damage.

"Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted. Had to give him something" dad said pointing his phone at the two, then he walk off towards me but he passed by and went to Nat

" I'm not getting that shield back, am I?" Steve asked. Dad turned around and it was Nat's turn to look at Steve.

"Technically, it's the government's property. Wings, too." She said then walk off with dad.

"That's cold." Sam said. Dad a bit turn around.

"Warmer than jail" he said hands in his pockets then continue walking with Nat. I sighed and walk towards the two.

"I heard what you guys did" I said, Steve was about to say something but I cut him off

"It's fine, I understand that you want to save him and I am too but not that way. You guys could have been hurt and so is Bucky" I said slowly getting upset.

"I am sorry Aya, but you said that I should do what I think is right and with no doubt I will do it again if I have to" He said. I can see the determination in his voice.  I just sighed. I know he's serious about doing it again if he needs to. 

"Just... just be careful" I said massaging my temple then went to where Nat and Dad went to. I saw them looking at a glass window. When I got close enough, turns out we were in the control room. On the monitor shows Bucky being confined in a prison pod. I felt someone stood beside me. Then I turned to find dad also overlooking at the chamber.

"Was this really necessary?" I asked still not taking my eyes off of Bucky.

"Precautionary measures are needed after what he did in Vienna" dad answered. I tore my eyes off of Bucky and look at him

"Dad, how sure are you that he was the one in Vienna?" I asked

"Are you once again taking Roger's side? Aya, what kind of proof do you want? he was seen on the footage. Now I am gonna ask you the same question you asked me, why does it seems like you are so sure that it wasn't him? hmm?" Dad said, his voice a bit louder than it should be. some of the agents near by look at us then look away continuing their work. I just stayed silent looking at him, then I once again look at Bucky. 

He had gone through so many this past years even when before he become the winter soldier got kidnapped by hyrda. He doesn't deserved all of this. It wasn't his fault, he was just being controlled. No human will be able to fight it specially after what the hydra did to him in order for them to be able to control him.

"I know, because I have been in contact with Bucky since shield collapsed"
