The Child Of Loki (Book 2)

CHAPTER EIGHT

We arrived in Vienna. We are now in the room where the conference will be held and when they said 117 countries want to sign this, they are not joking. Outside this building, they are many Medias coming from different country.

I am now currently sitting on one of the chair quietly letting Natasha do the talking. I saw her being approach by one of the UN staff handling her pen letting her sign it. Then I saw a man wearing a suit approach her. They were talking then they suddenly look at me both. I saw the man nod at me which I return then another man approach them, the king of Wakanda King T'Chaka now I know who is the first man who approached Nat. T'Challa the prince of Wakanda. They continue to talk.

"If everyone could please be seated. This assembly is now in session." One of the staffs announced. I saw Nat walk towards me leaving the two Wakandan citizen. She took a sit beside me. The first leader who will give a speech is King T'Chaka. Everyone is listening to him his son was standing on the side near one of the column.

Then I saw him looking outside walking nearer to the glass walls. It looks like he was seeing something. Then he realizes something.

"EVERYBODY GET DOWN!" he shouts running towards his father. Everybody gets down while I tried creating an ice barrier behind where King T'Chaka is standing but I was too late. The explosion destroyed it. Shards of glasses flew scraping my arms since I used it shielding my face, papers flew everywhere. I can't see anything because of smoke but when it disappears I saw T'Challa holding his father in his arms rocking him slowly, he was crying.

We immediately evacuated the building guiding us outside where ambulances are arriving. I sat in one of the bench waiting for Nat since she was being question by one of the rescuers. She then walks towards me

"Are you alright?" she asked

"Yes, but not him" I said looking at the Wakandan prince siting alone in a bench he was staring at a space.

"Do you know who did it?" I asked

"They said it was the Winter Soldier" she said. My eyes grew wide when she mention the winter soldier. Bucky can't do that he's in Romania. He told me he is in Bucharest how can he blow up the UN building? I didn't realize that Nat was now talking to T'Challa. I took out my phone calling Bucky it rings twice before he answered it.

"Hello" He said from the other line

"Jay" I said calling him by the nickname I gave him every time I'm calling him. Using Bucky or James is too risky. "You're still in Bucharest right? Romania?"  I asked  there's a silence in the other line before he answer

"if you think I did what happened to Vienna, that isn't me. I'm still here" he said. I was surprised that he already know what happened here. I guessed news already reached other foreign countries since a king just got murdered. I sighed.

"I heard they were pointing it at you that's why I called to check. No, I don't think you were" I said. "Just stay safe okay? and I think they are coming for you so be careful. I think it's best if you move to another apartment."

"I don't think moving out will be a good idea, but I'll just stay here keep a look out" he said. I sighed. I don't think everyone will believe if ever they caught Bucky and he told them that he was in Bucharest the whole time. I saw Nat walking towards me, I panic a bit. "Yeah, I am fine. Don't worry. I'll call you later. Love you" 

"Who's that?" Nat asked when she was near enough.

"Oh, no one" I said, placing my phone in my pocket. Nat look at me smirking not convinced.

"I heard you said "Love you"" I purposely said that so I can have a better excuse. I pretended to sigh looking defeated.

"Fine, my boyfriend. He got worried about me, he saw the news" I said. Nat maybe a spy and can tell anyone if they are lying or not but another perks of being the daughter of Loki even Nat cannot tell if I was telling the truth or not. But I do sometimes forgot about that and ended up making a not so much believable lie. 

"Never know you have one, I thought you like Steve" she said. I chuckle.

"No one should now I have one and no I don't like Steve. You should not believe in what dad  said that night" I said then look at where the prince  were. He was still staring blankly. I heard Nat chuckle a little.

"It is not because of that. I do know that you were with Steve in Romania plus the fact that you too were always together" she said. It's true that Steve and I are in Romania and it is true that we were spending time together too often. But that's because of Bucky. We were looking for him. Of course  I cannot tell that to anyone. 

"I did not even saw Steve in Romania when I was there and I don't even know he was there in the first place" I said then my phone rang. I picked it up and answered.

"Hello?" I said. Someone sighed at the other end.

"Oh my god Aya! are you okay?" Pepper's worried voice rung through my ear.

"Yeah, Yes I am fine. Just a few scratches but fine" I said trying to calm her down since she tends to become hysterical when it comes to situations like this even though this is not the first time. 

"How about about Nat? is she alright?" she asked. I look over at Nat who is also looking at me

"Yes, she's fine" I answered. 

"I were so worried when I heard the news" she said, by her voice I think she is now brushing her hair from frustration.  I heard Pepp breath out another sigh.

"Aya, I heard what happend between your Dad. He and I may not be on speaking terms right now but I know he didn't mean what he said. You know that right?" She knows about what happened between dad and I the other night and until now he and I still haven't talk. I remain quiet.

"I'll got to go Pepp, I'll text you when we're back. Nat and I just need to fix something before were able to go" I said avoiding her question after a few seconds of not talking. It's not the right time to talk about that.

"Okay, just don't forget to text me when you're home. Alright?" she said giving up to get an answer. 

"Yes, I gotta go now. I see you later" I said. Hanging up the phone. I look at Nat she just smiled and motion for me to follow her. I just breath out a deep sigh before following her.

I really do have a bad feeling about this but despite all that, I am still hoping for a good outcome.
