After a few moments, Nat landed the jet on the streets of London. I went here three years ago though I don't really want to talk about it since it brings back bad memories.
"You coming?" she asked. Putting the jet to park. She stood up walking towards my left side where the door is.
"I think I'll just stay here," I said. Nat smiled then she nod hopping off before shutting the door she look towards me.
"You sure? Come on, I'm just going to talk to someone then that's it, you do not have to talk" she said insisting that I should come with her. I sighed and then get up to join her. She shuts the door. Walking on the streets of London, I just stare at the floor not looking where we are going. Nat grab my arm when she saw me not stopping. I look up to see that we are in front of a chapel.
I shifted my gaze towards Nat who was now near the door. She motioned me to follow her which I obeyed. I walk beside her entering the chapel I saw someone standing alone in the aisle dressed in black and his back facing us. We walk towards him then he turns around leaning his body on one of the chairs.
"When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her." Steve said and Nat and I know that he was talking about Peggy. We were looking at him and I saw how sad he looks while he is looking at Peggy's picture in front of the altar.
Destiny isn't really good to Steve, to think that when he finally found the love of his life he tragically lost, ended up buried in ice then woke up 70 years later founding out that most of his friends are either dead or too old to even remember Steve.
"She had you back, too," Nat said smiling at Steve trying to lessen the weight he is feeling right now. I just stood there beside Nat, listening. I saw Steve looking at the floor and nod when he heard what Natasha said.
"Who else signed?" Steve said now looking at Natasha
"Tony. Rhodey. Vision." Natasha answered with a sigh.
"Clint?" Steve asked
"Says he's retired," Nat answered smiling slightly
"Wanda?"
"TBD, we're off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet." I heard Steve sigh again looking at the floor
"Just because it's the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together." Nat said trying to persuade Steve but it sounds more like she's trying to persuade herself
"What are we giving up to do it?" Steve asked making Natasha sigh which results in Steve shaking his head no, not convinced.
"I'm sorry, Nat. I can't sign it." Steve said
"We know"
"Then what are you doing here?" Steve asked
"We didn't want you to be alone," Nat answered, I don't even know why we came here in the first place but I also didn't want Steve to be alone so I nod my head. Nat pulled Steve for a hug.
"Come here," she said then they pulled apart then Steve turned to me I just stared at him not knowing what to do when Nat nudged me pulling me aside from my thoughts.
"So I guess you made up your mind then?" Steve asked looking at me.
"I'll wait for you in the jet," Nat said touching my shoulders and then nodding to Steve walking towards the chapel door and out of the building.
"Actually I have not yet made up my mind," I said looking back at Steve smiling.
"Then why are you with Natasha?" he asked smirking a little.
"We didn't want you to be alone" I answered
"I mean why are you with Natasha going to Vienna," Steve said explaining
"Dad wants me to tag along," I said then my eyes again turn to Peggy's picture "I'm sorry Steve for what happened," I said
"It's okay, at least she will not suffer anymore," he said also looking at the picture. Then he turned to me "Nat's waiting for you" he said I look at him again and then nod
"Yeah, I guessed I'll get going now," I said. I'm actually contemplating if I'm going to give him a hug or not. I mean it's okay, right? After what Dad said, I kinda feel awkward when I hear the name Steve or even see him. BUT I SWEAR, I do not like him.
"Are you alright? You just suddenly zone out" Steve said pulling me out of my head.
"Yes I'm fine, I got to go now," I said taping his shoulders and then walking out of the chapel. Walking on the streets alone and towards where the jet is parked. I open the door and take a sit settling down.
"What's up?" Nat said looking at me sitting in front of the controls.
"Fine" I answered. She looks at me skeptically.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," she said smiling then shifting her gaze where the controls are. I just shook my head.
