"Tony, someone dies on your watch, you don't give up." Steve said
"Who said we're giving up?"
"We are if we're not taking responsibility for our actions. This document just shifts the blames." Steve continues
"I'm sorry. Steve. That - that is dangerously arrogant. This is the United Nations we're talking about. It's not the World Security Council, it's not SHIELD, it's not HYDRA." Rhodey said joining in the conversation
"No, but it is run by people with agendas, and agendas change" Steve argues back.
"That's good. That's why I'm here. When I realized what my weapons were capable of in the wrong hands, I shut it down and stop manufacturing." Dad said walking towards where Steve is sitting at.
"Tony, you chose to do that. If we sign this, we surrender our right to choose. What if this panel sends us somewhere we don't think we should go? What if there is somewhere we need to go and they don't let us? Just like what Aya said earlier. Tony, We may not be perfect, but the safest hands are still our own." Steve said
"If we don't do this now, it's gonna be done to us later. That's the fact. That won't be pretty." Dad said still convinces to sign the accords.
"You mean we are going to jail?" I asked
"No, they are not after you but me." Wanda said looking at me. I'm confused, why would they come after Wanda? It's not just her it's all of us "You're saying they'll come for me." She continues now looking at dad.
"We would protect you." Vision said. I saw Wanda look at Vision as Vision look at her. I know how they feel about each other though Vis is entirely robot he is a special one. He can feel human emotion and he is adapting to the world customs as the days goes by.
"Maybe Tony's right." Natasha said. Dad looks at her, surprised even Sam looks surprise as well.
"If we have one hand on the wheel, we can still steer. If we take it off –"Nat continues
"Aren't you the same woman who told the government to kiss her ass a few years ago?" Sam said, still surprise at Nat
"I'm just . . . I'm reading the terrain. We have made . . . some very public mistakes. We need to win their trust back." Nat explained. Steve seems to think about what Nat just said.
"Focus up. I'm sorry, did I just mishear you or did you agree with me?" Dad said, still not believing that Nat believes in what he thinks is right
"Oh, I want to take it back now." Nat said teasing Dad.
"No, no, no. You can't retract it. Thank you. Unprecedented. Okay, case closed--I win." Dad said. I heard Steve's phone rung.
"Dad please, we need to talk this through." I beg
"I have to go." Steve said standing up walking down the stairs out of our sight. Rhodey, Sam, Natasha, Dad and I are all looking at the stairs where Steve went. I grab my things on the table standing up.
"Where are you going?" Dad asked
"My room, I need to finish this" I said motioning to the laptop in my hands then I walk out the room. I open door putting my things on the bedside table plopping myself on my bed. I look at my right side to see the window then I stand up walking towards the bathroom to change my clothes. When I got back I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" I said taking a sit in front of my dresser putting down my hair. I heard a knock and the door creak open.
"You're not coming back to the office tomorrow?" Steve's voice asked. I look through my right shoulder to see him sitting on my bed then he stood up walking towards the window gazing outside. I smile a little then look once again to the mirror in front of me.
"No, I'm not. We need to fix these accords thingy before anything else" I said while taking out some makeup pads.
"So you're signing?" he asked. I twirl the chair facing him placing the makeup pad on the table.
"I don't know." I sighed slouching placing my hands on my lap. Steve looks at me.
"Sam and I are going to London in three days" He said now sitting at the edge of the bed near the window.
"What are you doing in London?" I asked.
"Peggy. S-she's gone" He answered I saw his eyes getting shiny with threatening tears to fall. I see how Steve loves Peggy, for all this years and he still loves her.
"Sorry to hear that" I said. He just looks at the window not saying anything.
"You know Steve, I'm sure she is watching you now, you know." Trying to at least lighten up what he is feeling right now. But who am I kidding? Loosing someone you love is harder than what others thought. He smiled a little.
"Even then, she is always watching me. When I'm still that skinny boy from Brooklyn who wants to be in the military so bad. Trying to prove that I can do what other men can." He said reminiscing the past.
"You know Steve, I'm jealous at Agent Peggy" I said. I saw his eyes got wider then he looks at me. Didn't know what to say.
