Chapter 30

"The Agency will be attacking us soon." Chuuya said as I sat on the table, swinging my legs.

"Hmm." I hummed a response as Chuuya scowled.

"Are you listening, idiot?" Chuuya asked as I frowned.

"Idiot? Who's that?" I asked as Chuuya sighed, shaking his head in frustration.

"Seems like the cannibalism effect didn't effect your stupid brain of yours in any way." Chuuya said as I chuckled.

"Oh, come on. You're glad I'm alive." I said as Chuuya rolled his eyes but didn't deny it.

A loud boom from outside made the two of us perk up as I grinned.

"Well, looks like they're here." I said as I got up and started making my way to the door.

"Wait." Chuuya said as I paused, looking back at the red-head.

"What? They're here. We don't have time just sit around and do nothing." I said as Chuuya stared at me with hard eyes.

"You're staying here." Chuuya said as I blinked.

"Huh?" I asked as Chuuya stared at me.

"You're staying here, you're not fighting." Chuuya said as I raised an eyebrow, falling silent before...

"WHAT THE HELL?! WHY AM I STAYING HERE?" I shouted, clenching my fists tightly as Chuuya didn't seem fazed by my sudden outrage.

"You've been affected. You're one of the targets for the Detective Agency." Chuuya reasoned as I rolled my eyes.

"Everyones a target." I said as Chuuya shook his head.

"You're staying here, whether you like it or not." Chuuya said as I scoffed.

"You can't keep me here and you know it." I said stubbornly, crossing my arms as Chuuya rolled his eyes.

"I do know that, which is why he's here." Chuuya said as I grit my teeth together.

"Chuuya, I swear if you-" I started just as Akutagawa stepped into the room.

"Wow, this is great." I said sarcastically as I glared at Chuuya.

"Just stay here, Y/n. We can't have you dying." Chuuya said as I rolled my eyes.

"Stupid of you think I'll die to some little ability." I mumbled before sighing and sitting on the chair.

"Fine! I'll stay with Akutagawa." I said, keeping my arms crossed as Chuuya raised an eyebrow but sighed before turning to Akutagawa.

"Just protect her." Chuuya mumbled, unfortunately, I had caught it.

"I don't need protection." I said as Chuuya rolled his eyes again before leaving the room.

Silence fell around us as there were the occasional explosions.

I glanced at Akutagawa who was staring out the huge window in the room, staring outside.

Standing up, I reached for one of the knives hanging from the wall.

"Don't even." Akutagawa said without turning around as I rolled my eyes, fingers wrapping around the hilt of a blade.

A hand wrapped around my wrist as Akutagawa was beside me in a second.

"Let me go." I said with a bored look on my face as Akutagawa stared down at me.

"You can't go." Akutagawa said as I glared at him.

"Technically, I told Chuuya that I'll stay with you." I reasoned as there was a loud explosion from outside again.

"Don't you need to go help?" I asked with a sly grin on my face as Akutagawa scowled.
