Chapter 2

"Wait so let me get this right, you dropped maths and picked up Chemistry just to be in his class?" Drew eyed me weirdly as Dylan told him about my mistakes.

"It gets better! He drops out of chemistry and picks up maths, but Hunter was not allowed to change back." Dylan's eyes began to water as she tried not to laugh.

"Ha ha ha, my love life is miserable and pathetic." I snarled sarcastically.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll stop making fun. It's just so cute that's all." Dylan smiled at me but I just threw up my middle finger at her.

My front door burst open and a flustered looking Maisie came running through the door.

"Where you chased by wolves or did you and Nate have an intense make out session?" I asked as she plonked herself on my couch.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She smiled innocently but like how everyone knew I was in love with Levi, everyone knew what Maisie and a very attractive boy named Nate were getting up to behind closed doors. Even in the back of his car but I totally didn't see that what.

A Friday night usually just consisted of Maisie, Dylan and I but tonight Dylan invited Drew around and for about an hour she told him about my pathetic love life.

"Levi invited me to play soccer-" Drew started but Maisie, Dylan and I all cut him off by screaming,

"Football!" At the top of our lungs.

"I was just about to invite you to watch us play football but not anymore." Drew huffed.

"Trust me she already knows and will be sitting pretending to read a book." Maisie laughed. She was no longer a hot mess with smudged lipstick. Bit of a giveaway about what she was doing if you ask me but she insisted that it was raining for a few seconds.

"So what do you lovely ladies get up to on a Friday night?" Drew cut the silence that had been around for a while.

"Hunter will either daydream or talk about Levi all night, Maisie will text Nate but pretend it's her cousin, I swear if it is her cousin they need a social worker or something because that shits messed up, and I will watch some pretty little liars." She smiled and Drew muttered 'fuck my life' under his breath.

Because of Drew we never got to do what we used to. Instead we were dragged to a park when it was dark to find a few guys from school drinking beer on the swings.

"Tonight I have brought three beautiful girls with me for good company." He slung his arm over Dylan and I's shoulder jokingly but we just pushed him away.

"We aren't prostitutes." I commented back and the guys let out a laugh.

One laugh stood out as the laugh that could cure diseases, of course it was Levi.

Levi. Laughed. At. My. Joke.

The lighting of the the park was dull but Levi's face just lit up. I don't know if it was my imagination or the light from his phone screen or he just was an angel but he looked like he had a light shining on him and my oh my it made his jaw line look like it could cut my finger.

"Want a drink?" A boy named Austin asked holding up a box with beer in it.

Everyone took one each and for the first time ever I was sat next to Levi contributing to the same conversation as him.

Dylan kept glancing at me and giving me casual thumbs up as if I needed it for encouragement.

"You know who I miss? That girl that moved to Australia, what was her name again?" Levi spoke up and my heart dropped to my stomach.
