Hours later...

'How much experience do you guys have with the multiverse?' the girl asked, sitting in front of Strange and Wong in the restaurant.

'We have experience with the multiverse,' Strange replied pensively. 'Most recently, there was an incident with Spider-Man...'

'With what Man?' she asked.

'Spider-Man. He has the powers of a spider.'

'Hence the name,' Wong chimed in. America frowned.

'Gross. Does he look like a spider?'

'No, more like a man,' Strange replied.

'Climbs walls, shoot webs,' Wong said.

'Yeah, bingo,' Strange shot back.

'Out his butt?' she asked, looking mortified at the prospect.

'No. Maybe. Honestly, I hope not.' Strange frowned at her as she stuffed a sandwich in her mouth. 'You're going to get a stomachache.'

'I'm from another universe,' she shot back. 'How do you know my stomach works the same as yours?'

'You just got burned, Stephen. Do you need some ice for that?' They all looked up to see a slightly middle-aged woman with a backpack slung over her shoulder and sunglasses on her face.

'I thought you weren't coming,' he replied. She chuckled, taking off her sunglasses to reveal deep blue eyes. She sat down, pulling up a chair very loudly and slinging her bag over the back of the chair.

'Well, I tend to surprise people. Wong. How are you? I know we only met in passing at Tony's funeral, but let's start over. Hi. I'm Adelaide Barnes.'

'Wong,' the man replied, and we shook hands.

'You know, you're supposed to bow to him, or something like that,' Strange said.

'Not your conversation, wizard. Stay in your lane.' Then she turned to the girl. 'Hi, kid. I'm Adelaide Barnes. Or as some people prefer to call me, the White Phoenix.'

'America Chavez.'

'Unique name. So, will someone bring me up to speed here or do I have to ask questions?' She examined her nails. Strange turned back to America.

'I don't even know if you're from another universe. Which is why I'm still sitting here waiting for you to enlighten us.'

'Francamente, de los dos Stranges Doctor que he conocido, no eres mi favorito (Frankly, of the two Doctor Stranges I've met, you are not my favourite),' she bit back in Spanish.

'Which means?' Stephen asked.

'No puede hablar español (He can't speak Spanish)?' America asked.

'No sé si él habla su propio idioma (I don't know if he speaks his language),' Wong replied in Spanish.

'Sí, probablemente habla el idioma de un idiota impulsive (Yeah, he probably speaks the language of an impulsive idiot),' I scoffed in Spanish.

'I don't know what you said, but it sounded rude,' Stephen said in English. She looked back up at him, blinking innocently.

'Your tone implies that I'm supposed to care about your wounded pride, Stephen,' she bit back in English.

'Look, I left a very nice wedding to save a smartass kid from getting eaten by an octopus,' Stephen said.

'Whose wedding?' Wong asked. 'Tell me -'
