The robots led Stephen and I through the halls of the futuristic-looking building before they promptly, unceremoniously, tossed us into a hallway and shut the door. We walked into the expansive room before us, where there was several chairs sitting empty on a high platform above us.

'Stephen Strange, Adelaide Lehnsherr!' Baron Mordo called out, and we looked up to him. 'You are now called before the Illuminati. 'I, Baron Karl Mordo, the Sorcerer Supreme, do hereby -'

'Karl?' Stephen asked, and I let out a short laugh at the sound of the name. Just then a familiar vibranium shield bounced off the wall next to our heads, and ended up in the hands of someone who looked all too familiar.

'Captain Carter,' Mordo announced. 'The first Avenger.' I frowned, watching Peggy take her seat. 'Blackagar Boltagon,' Mordo said next. 'Keeper of the Terrigen mists. The Inhuman king.'

'Blackagar Boltagon?' Stephen asked. He turned to the superhero and promptly said, 'Hidigy hidithere.' I burst into laughter, Mordo glaring at me.

'Is something funny?' I just continued to laugh. Then I straightened, wiping the smirk off of my face, and sighed.

'Right. Sorry. Carry on, Baron,' I said, adding thick sarcasm to the statement of his title.

'Captain Marvel, defender of the cosmos,' Mordo announced, gesturing to his left, and there was someone seated there, wearing a familiar costume, but a different face than the Captain Marvel of our world. 'And the smartest man alive - Reed Richards, of the Fantastic Four.' A blue portal light showed up, revealing the man in question, who sat down in his seat next to Captain Marvel.

'Hello Stephen, Adelaide,' he said.

'Fantastic Four. Didn't you guys chart in the 60's?' Stephen asked.

'They did, didn't they?' I said.

'I'm sorry, is this a joke to you two?'

'Well, there's a guy over there with a fork on his head, so yeah, a little bit,' I shot back. The Inhuman in question, made some sort of gesture, pointing to his mouth.

'Be grateful Black Bolt doesn't engage you in conversation,' Peggy said.

'Why? Does he have bad breath?' Stephen asked.

'This Strange is even more arrogant than ours,' Peggy remarked. Captain Marvel let out a soft chuckle.

'No, just more alive.'

'For now,' Captain Marvel replied.

'Stephen, Adelaide, your arrival here confuses and destabilises reality,' Reed said. 'The larger the footprint you leave behind, the greater the risk of an incursion.'

'Incursion?'

'An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes... and they collide, destroying one or both entirely.'

'Your alternate self created the Illuminati,' Peggy said, 'to make difficult decisions that no one else could. Today, we're here to determine what to do with you two and the child.'

'So, before we vote...' Captain Marvel spoke, 'if you've got anything serious to say, now's the time.'

'Yeah, we do,' I said. 'If it's incursions you're worried about... do you seriously think we're bigger threats than the Scarlet Witch?'

'Oh, we can handle your little witch if she decides to dreamwalk.'

'No. No, you cannot. Not unless you give me the Book of Vishanti.'
