Chapter 5

Tenma's POV

We arrived at the riverbank. It's not my usual practice spot but the sun was going to set soon and it's nice seeing it from the riverbank. Right now I was trying to teach Y/n how to dribble. It was getting a little bit hot so I took off my jacket and wrapped it around my waist. I made sure to tighten it, just in case it fell off while I was dribbling or running after Y/n. I stared blankly at her, wondering why I even bothered deciding to teach her how to play. She's a tough person to teach, if I'm being honest. It's okay though, soccer is soccer.

"No, not like that! You need to look infront of you when your dribbling. You might end up like Hikaru." I said. I took the ball from her and began demonstrating how to do it.

"Oh yeah! He crashed into the goal post!" Y/n started to laugh after remembering what happened to him. I face palmed and placed my foot on top of the ball, keeping it in place.

"Okay now you try." I said, passing the ball to her. Y/n slowly kicked the ball, making sure it wasn't too far away from her so that she could kick it again.

"I.. I did it!" A huge smile grew on her face. She looks just as proud as I was when I first learned how to dribble.

"Yes! Good job Y/n!" I congratulated. I tackled her in a hug. She hugged me back and we let go,

"Want to try do it a little more faster?" I suggested, the girl shook her head.

"Eh.. trying to keep the ball close to me was hard enough." Y/n mumbled.

"It's fine! You can still try!" I gave her a sweet smile.

"Okay then, let's try!" Y/n went over to where the ball was and tried to do it at a faster pace. Instead, she ended up tripping over the ball and fell backwards. It seemed like a hard fall.

"Y/N!" I yelled, going over to her side. Y/n sat up. She rubbed her head and groaned.

"M-my head.." she whispered.

"Are you okay?" I asked. I could see blood coming from her elbow.

"I think so." She muttered.

"Let's get you cleaned up, your elbow is bleeding." She looked at her elbow to see if I was lying or not.

"Ok." She replied. I helped her get up and she had a hand on her head. I'm guessing her head was hurting. I sat her down on a nearby bench and luckily I had a small bandage in my pocket. It wasn't big enough to cover the cut though and to stop the bleeding, so we had to go to the market to get some. It wasn't too far from here.

"If we walk quickly, we can get there in a few minutes!" Y/n nodded and we got there in about five minutes. We bought the bandages and I carefully wrapped it around her elbow.

"Don't you think we should see a doctor about it? It is bleeding a lot." Y/n questioned.

"No, I think it'll be fine!" After I bandaged it I heard Y/n sigh. I looked at her in confusion. She seemed to be upset about something.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Tenma.. I'm sorry." She muttered. Now I'm even more confused. Sorry for?

"What for?"

"You're being so nice to me.. and I'm not usually nice to you.." Y/n had a frown on her face.

"You are! Well, sometimes. I'm sometimes rude to you but we do it in a joking way, if that makes sense." I put a hand on her shoulder.

"Why did you want to hang out with me?" Y/n asked. Oh.. how do I answer this without telling her the true meaning?

"I wanted to be.." I started off but I didn't know what to say so instead, I just hugged her.

"Tenma..?" She whispered.

"I wanted to be.. a better person to you." I whispered in her ear.

Your POV

"I wanted to be.. a better person to you." He whispered in my ear. I blushed quite a lot and I had this weird feeling in my stomach.

"Really.." I said.

"Yeah.." Tenma stopped hugging me but he held my shoulders,

"Is your head better?" He asked.

"A little bit." I replied, placing a hand on my head. I lied though, my head was still pounding a lot.

"Do you want to spend the night with me and Aki-nee? It's getting kind of late."

"I would but I'm still in my school uniform.." I declined his offer.

"No worries!" Tenma then took his jacket off from around his waist and put it around me.

"Keep it with you to prevent yourself from getting cold. You can also wear some of my clothes!" Tenma gave me a sweet smile. Cute..

"Thank you.." I smiled back at him. I got out my phone and messaged my parents telling them I would be at a friends house. They just left me on read. I sighed and we both headed to his house.

While we were going there, I was getting that same weird feeling in my stomach. I've never felt this way before.

Tenma's POV

I've gotten a few steps closer to getting her to like me, it's actually really easy getting her to like me! I could tell because when I hugged her she was blushing a lot.

I feel so bad for doing this to her but it's all for the dare. I can't lie though, she is kind of pretty. I think I might be falling for her..

"Aki-nee! Can Y/n stay over?" I asked. I held the door open for Y/n before letting myself in.

"Of course, as long as she has permission from her parents, welcome back Y/n." Aki-nee was sitting beside Sasuke, who was asleep.

"Thanks for letting me stay over, Aki-san." Y/n waved at Aki-nee.

"Let's go upstairs, I'll show you where your room is!" Y/n and I took off our shoes and ran upstairs.

I showed her where the bathroom was and I gave her some spare clothes.

"You can get changed here." I said and she thanked me for the clothes.

I pulled out my phone and messaged Kariya telling him about how I was able to make her blush. He hasn't seen it yet but I'm guessing he would said I've made progress.

"I'm finished." Y/n walked out of the bathroom in a shirt and sweatpants.

"That looks nice on you. You can keep them if you like." I said.

"Eh. I'll wash them then give it back." I just shrugged and we both heading into the living room to watch a movie.

Timeskip to after the movie.

Y/n had fallen asleep midway through the movie, I'm guessing she's either really tired or the movie was too boring for her.

I got a blanket downstairs for her because she seemed to be sleeping peacefully.

I placed it over her body and I kissed her forehead.

"I think.. I love you, Y/n." I whispered,
