Chapter 15

Your POV

It was 6th period and I had science. That means I have to sit next to Tenma. I groaned and put my head on my desk.

"L/n-san, you're earlier than usual, something wrong?" Tanaka-sensei asked. I looked at him and smiled awkwardly. He had a cup of coffee in his left hand, slowly taking sips out of it,

"Everything is fine. Also, I'd ask you the same question. Usually you're late to lesson." I replied. I rested my chin on my palm.

"I wanted to make a change for once." He placed his cup of coffee on his desk and sat in his seat. As he sat down, my classmates finally arrived.

"Y/n! I can't believe you're early!" I looked to see who was saying that and it was Hikaru. I just smiled at him and he walked to his seat. I could see Tenma enter the room. When he looked at me, he smiled. It wasn't a happy smile, it was a sad one.

"Y/n.." Tenma said, taking a seat next to me. I shifted my gaze away from him and looked to the side instead. I could hear him sigh. Tenma pulled out his chair and sat down. "Y/n please listen to me.."

"You're still mad about the whole incident, huh?" Tenma muttered. I had a feeling he was staring at me. I turned my head to the side and I was right. It looked like he had tears in his eyes but they weren't falling from his eyes yet. I quickly looked away and raised my hand.

"Yes, L/n-san?" Sensei asked.

"Could i please move seats?" I requested. He shook his head.

"I'm sorry but there's no spare seats. Plus, I think that seat is the perfect spot for you." Tanaka-sensei began to write some thing on the whiteboard which we had to copy down.

For the whole lesson, me and Tenma didn't talk. Every now and then he would whisper things to me like 'I'm sorry.. ' or 'you don't understand..'

Timeskip to a few months later

Tenma's POV

It had been a few months since I was exposed. Well, not really exposed. They all thought I was going a long with the dare which at first, I was. I ended up having to explain to each of them that I do truly love her. I tried to explain to Y/n but she would always pretend I'm not there. I wrote her a letter, I'm planning to give it to her today.

It was the end of practice and I went over to her to get a towel and a bottle. Y/n was smiling at everyone, as usual, and talking to Midori at the same time. I cautiously walked up to her and stood infront of her. I could see Midori smirking slightly and nudging Y/n. Y/n seemed confused until she turned and looked at me. Her smile dropped.

"H-hey.." I stuttered, waving at her. She knew I was going to ask for a bottle. Y/n seemed hesitant at first but eventually gave me a bottle. Midori gave me a towel and whispered something to Y/n before walking away.

As I drank my water, I continued to stare at Y/n. I could see her roll her eyes and she glared at me.

"Do you need something?" She hissed. I nodded. "What is it?"

I placed my bottle down and reached into my pocket. I pulled out a paper and opened it. I made sure it was the letter before giving it to her.

"P-please take this.." I gulped, looking away from her. My hand was stuck out infront of her with the paper in it. She sighed and took it. I immediately smiled.

"I'm going to go now Y/n-cha- I mean Y/n! Bye-bye!" I waved goodbye and ran off to the changing rooms. I entered and slammed the door, panting.

"Was there really a need to slam the door?" Shindou asked. I nodded. The only people there were Shindou, Kirino, Tsurugi, me and Shinsuke.

"I did it!" I beamed. Everyone looked confused, except Shinsuke and Tsurugi.

"You gave it?!" Shinsuke ran up to me and grabbed my arm, smiling. I nodded.

"I didn't think she would actually talk to you.." Tsurugi stated.

"Well, she didn't really talk to me. She just glared at me and asked me what I wanted and then took it." I explained, grabbing my back from my locker.

"Who's 'she'?" Kirino asked. Me and Shinsuke looked at him and smiled.

"Y/n!" We both said simultaneously.

"You still like her?" Kirino asked. I nodded. "Doesn't she hate you though?"

"I guess so.. she is nice to me, but rarely though. She's either ignoring me or helping me with something since were partners in science." I said.

"Anyways, what did you give her?" Shindou asked.

"A love letter! I explained the whole 'dare' to her in the too, hopefully she understands." I replied. Shindou nodded and we all left the changing rooms and headed home.

"I hope she reads it.." I thought to myself.

Your POV

I was currently laying down on my bed, looking at the piece of paper infront of me. I hadn't read it yet. Instead, I thought about if I should read it or not. I still loved Tenma, I couldn't get over him. I loved everything about him, I'm just shocked that he lied about having a crush on me.

"Maybe it's best if I.." I slowly picked up the paper and unfolded it. I sat up and I began to read it.

Dear Y/n,

I know you kinda hate me but that's okay! As long as you're reading this letter, everything will be fine. I understand if you do hate me though, I messed up. Like a lot. I'm really sorry about that. I know sorry won't be enough but please, let me explain.

I got the dare from Kariya and I accepted to do it, I didn't think you would actually fall in love with me. I jsut thought we would still be friends and that it would taken millions of years to make you fall in love with me. After a while, I did end up catching feelings for you. And not fake feelings, real feelings. I told Fei about it the day he came to the beach with us and he told me I should confess. He knew about the dare, after I told him of course, and he told me it would be fine. Obviously it's not fine. I wanted to explain this all to you but then.. you wouldn't listen. I know I should of told you about this whole dare thing and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being an idiot and a liar.

Anyways, I mainly wrote this to tell you that I love you. I don't care if you reject me, I just want to let you know that even if you still hate me, I'll always love you. I love your smile, your laugh, your sense of humor and everything else about you.

So please, Meet me after school tomorrow at the riverbank after school tomorrow.

My jaw dropped and my eyes were filled with tears.

"He loves me.." I breathed. I fell backwards onto my bed and hugged the letter.

"He does truly love me!!" I squealed. This means I have to meet him tomorrow after practice at the riverbank. I took a deep breath and read the letter over and over again..
