The next day

Oikawa loved the feeling of the sun shining on his face, but there was still a minor issue that his mind reminded him of for the whole night, leading to limited sleep for the poor sleep-deprived boy.

Makki had come into his room in the middle of the night because 'it was cold'. Hence, one of the people Oikawa has known the longest in his bed snuggling up to him like a puppy to its mother.

Makki looked adorable as he was sleeping, his face looked so soft and kissable. He seemed to be at peace, and he was smiling ever so softly.

Kawa wanted to know what it felt like to kiss Makki, but it was well and truly not a friend thing to do, and that's all that they are and all that they will ever be, two friends.

Two very good friends.

Two very very good friends that will never be more.

Just good friends.

These feelings were those that good friends would have.

Definitely not a massive crush.

"Oikawa! Wake up before I walk in there and sit on you!" Iwa-Chan called out to Kawa.

"Gimme a second," Kawa responded.

Makki moved slightly in his sleep, "What was that?" Makki asked snuggling into Kawa further.

"Iwa-Chan doing a wake-up call," Kawa responds. Stroking Makki's oddly rough yet silky hair instinctively.

"Mmkay," Makki murmured slightly waking up, "Wait this isn't a dream?

"No, this is real," Kawa chuckled slightly.

"And I'm not in my bed?" Makki continues.

"No, you're not."

"And you're definitely Kawa?"

"Yes, I am."

"Has Iwa ever actually come in and sat on you?"

"Yeah, a few times."

"What am I doing here?" Makki sat up abruptly, finally snapping awake.

"You were cold and came into my room. I didn't have much choice in letting you stay, you kind of just got into my bed and fell asleep again," Kawa lied about the last part.

"Why didn't you kick me out or sleep on the couch?" Makki quizzed.

"Because my bed is warmer than the couch and you are a space heater, was not about to deny that on a cold winter's night," Kawa places the back of his hand on his forehead for dramatics.

"So you used me for me being a space heater?" Makki sighed.

"Obviously," Kawa teased, winking at Makki.

Makki sighed sitting up in the bed, "Wanna make a bet?"

"I'm listening," Kawa drawled.

"Let's call each other and the other two by their first names, the first person to back down loses," Makki suggested.

"What does the loser have to do?" Kawa continued, very intrigued with how their names would roll off his tongue.

"Confess to their crush," Makki challenged.

Kawa felt his world stop. This is probably the moment he should start regretting his gamble with Makki, who is known for making sure everyone does the punishment for losing a bet, where he confesses to liking someone.

He knew it was a bad idea, and he knew it would end disastrously, but his mouth said something else.

"Deal."
