"Yes?" I answered.

"Listen I got myself a flight to London, I'm arriving tomorrow at 8 PM, I'll get to a hotel and see you the day after tomorrow?"

"Sure grandma, whatever floats your boat" I said staring out the window. I realized after we hung up: SHE'S COMING TO A COUNTRY ALONE, AND SHE DOESN'T SPEAK ANY ENGLISH. "fUCK FUCK FUCK" I started walking up and down.

"What now?"

"My grandmother is coming to London."

"Oh"

"AND SHE DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH HOW IS SHE EVEN GOING TO GET HER ROOM IN THE HOTEL I CAN'T" I yelled and laughed "How did she even get the tickets oh god what am I gonna do"

Time escaped quickly, and it already was tomorrow. I already took Hannah home, everything was complicated. It was around 5 PM, when finally Jack came out of the bedroom. Went straight to the closet where he kept all sorts of shit, was completely unexpected to drag a bed which you can fold in half. "What are you doing?"

"Dragging this shit out for your nana, is this her first time in town?"

"First time she ever stepped out of the country"

"Well crap"

"You guys won't understand each other, I'm gonna have a shitload of fun"

"I'm gonna kick your ass, or learn your language."

"Probably kick my ass then" we both started laughing.

Before leaving to get her, I started giving instructions for Jack.

"Hannah is all done for bedtime, books are on the shelf, her favourite is the mice one, also if she wants to, you guys can watch a movie, and we'll be back around 9 I guess. If we're not here by nine, tuck her into bed please, god bless you thanks."

Of course my ma got me a tiny urn with my mother's ashes. Yes, I did cry. Kind of.

"OH MY GOD YOU'VE GROWN UP"

"YES I HAVE" she started crying because she was all happy to see me. We grabbed a taxi and travelled back, arrived around 8:45.

When we entered the apartment, I heard some Disney shit going on in the background.

"Everything is so different"

"This is not the same country you've lived in, what did you expect?"

"Oh you've arrived." I heard Jack he got up, and Hannah ran in front of me.

"Was she good?"

"I think she's getting her sass from me"

"Jack..."

"Yes she was, she is an angel" I lifted her up.

"Mommy, who is she?"

"Oh that's your great grandmother."

"Whose is this kid?" my nana asked.

"She's actually your great grandkid"

"Oh my god what have I missed?"

"Hannah this is your great grandmother, granny this is Hannah. Love, do you want to speak the language we're going to speak with granny?"

"Yes"

"Do you want to start learning it tomorrow?" she nodded as an answer. "Can you tuck her in bed, we kinda need to deal with so many stuff here, also I'm gonna introduce you two to each other."

"Okay."

"Thanks"

"Who is the boy?"

"He's a friend. The father is somewhere else. Currently in Japan probably getting engaged."

"When did this happen?"

"What?"

"The baby girl, everything?"

"Four years ago maybe?" I guessed.

"Did your mother know about it?"

"No"

"Your father?"

"Nope"

"She didn't want any bedtime stories" Jack said. I ran into the room, checked if everything is okay, and it turned out she's just tired and already fell asleep by the time I got there.

"So, Jack this is Eve, nana this is Jack" they shook hands.

"She's adorable" he said. My grandma was tiny and nice, which made her adorable apparently. But honestly, most of the time no matter how much I loved her, she annoyed me.

"What is he saying?"

"That you're adorable" I translated and she blushed.

"Tell him thanks"

"She says thanks" I said "god why did I want to be an interpreter."

I was really tired so I went to sleep. But when my head hit the pillow, I immediately remembered the box of shit in the living room. I sat up, and stared at the ground for a while, until I heard a voice.

"What is the little urn you grandma brought?"

"An urn, it exactly is an urn."

"Oh god, stop being an asshole"

"Sorry" I said "It's just a lot to take in."

"Go to sleep. You need sleep. We all do." he said, and I heard him turning around.

The next morning was Saturday, which meant I have work in the afternoon and Hannah's home, along with my grandmother. Only problem was, I left my phone at home.

When I left the store I had a feeling that I have a dozen of missed calls. Also I was really afraid of Phil sending me a text and Jack reading it. Being the only person who knew about the thing between them, meant a lot of pressure, and I have to think twice before I say anything.

"Your phone rang, your dad is nice."

"You spoke to him?" my eyes widened.

"Yes we had a small conversation."

"About what?" I asked, he sighed.

"Dora's phone, how can I help you; hey is Dora there; no she's at work; when will she come back; around seven, who is this; her father, who are you; I'm her roommate, Jack Howard nice to meet you through the phone; nice to meet you too, is her grandmother there; yes she is, only problem is she doesn't speak any language besides her own one as far as I'm concerned, blah blah blah, was that enough?"

"Oh dear jesus"

"Also he dislikes the thought of us living together"

"What did you expect, he's my father"

"Now go get changed."

"Why?"

"I've got a surprise"
