The elevator started going down. My hands dropped when he suddenly kissed me, pushing me up against the wall of the elevator. We were kissing until we got to the floor we lived on.
This made me be miserable in the next 72 hours.
We both weren't sure about this whole thing.
I went straight to bed.
The old lady wasn't on our floor, so I had to reschedule telling her to fuck off.
I was up all night, and when the sun came up, I didn't wanted to be up.
I quickly exited and spent the day cleaning Hannah's room.
My grandmother noticed that I was upset, so she offered that we could go and get some food and make some goulash.
It was a throwback to my childhood.
"Are you guys cooking?" Jack came from nowhere.
"Yes"
"What?"
"Goulash soup" I said in Hungarian, and he got even more confused. "Just a little throwback to my childhood." In the middle of the cooking, I got a call. "Can you please take care of it? I have to answer the phone, I'll be outside." I asked my grandma. She nodded, and I grabbed my keys and exited quickly. "Yes?" I answered.
"Hey, it's me" it was Phil.
"Hey, how is it going, did you asked him yet?"
"No, not yet." I heard a mixture of sadness and happiness in his voice. "I think you should tell him."
"Phil who are you talking to?"
"I'm on the phone"
"With who?"
"Dora"
"Jesus christ"
"I don't know. I'll put you on speaker."
"Okay"
"You're on speaker"
"Hey Dan"
"Hey" he wasn't so enthusiastic.
"Tell him your problem too, maybe he can solve it"
"Hello, yes this is internet support group" it cracked me up.
"So my problem.." he interrupted me.
"You have to play it by the rules"
"Okay. Dora, 23, London"
"I'm listening"
"My friend is in trouble because she has a secret and only one person knows about it, but it connects to a guy who is in a relationship and the friend does not want to screw this up for them."
"Also she should tell him because it is really important"
"You know, I'll think about it" Dan said.
"Okay."
"We're coming home tomorrow"
"Oh, and did you enjoy Japan?"
"Yes yes we did"
"That's nice."
"Talk to you on Tuesday?"
"Yes, sure" we hung up. I went back.
Time flew by and it was already Tuesday, my grandma went back home, and Jack and I didn't talk about that night. It was a topic that none of us wanted to bring up.
I was really upset about Phil being sad a bit so I went to talk to him.
"So did you?" I motioned to Dan's room, his answer was a headshake. "Why not? I told you I don't want to stand between the two of you." Hannah playing with Dan in the other room, Jack went to make a video with Dean and Ciaran and the kindergarten was closed.
"It didn't feel right. Knowing that the kid... You know."
"Aw I shouldn't have told you" I made a painful face.
"But if it turned out after I you know what, then I would have this lifelong pain in my chest about it"
"Aw"
"And even though..."
"Hey, he loves you, and that is all what matters, it's you two against the world. You and him could change anything."
"Don't make me cry" he sniffled.
"Sorry I didn't mean to, come here" I hugged him.
"Oh my god what is going on out here, are you guys making each other cry?"
"Yes, kind of" I started laughing. Hannah was on Dan's back, and when I looked at her, she looked like she found her place. When I looked at both of them, I could already see that their faces are so similar. From the dimples to the hair colour, I found similarities in every piece of her.
She had partial heterochromia which made her even more special to me.
"Hannah, I'll turn on the telly for you, what do you want to watch?"
"Winnie the Pooh"
"Are you kidding me" Dan asked, while me and Phil started snickering. Dan gave us a death glare and put Hannah down. He put the Winnie the Pooh disk into his laptop, pressed play, and fullscreened it.
While he did all these things, I looked at him a couple of times.
"They are adorable" I whispered to Phil.
"See? This is why I didn't..." he said.
"Aw no no no I didn't mean it that way."
Dan sat down next to us.
"She is so fricking adorable, and her heterochromia, aw" he said, Phil smiled at me and smiled at him. "I'll get some chips, be right back" he exited.
"YOU NEED TO TELL HIM"
"NO I DON'T WANT TO RUIN IT JESUS CHRIST"
"IF YOU DON'T TELL HIM I WILL" we fought like enemies, even though we liked each other.
"YOU CAN'T"
"BUT I'M GOING TO"
"PHILIP LESTER I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU..." I couldn't finish my silently yelled sentence, because Dan came back in.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing. We were just debating" I lied.
"About what?"
"About which one is better, Pringles, or the cheap Tesco version of that."
"Mum" I heard Hannah. I got up.
"Don't worry, I got this."
"She's gonna tell you you're not mum, she did it when I was at Louise's and I was outside, calling one of my friends, and when I got back Louise was laughing, and she told me Hannah said that."
He got up anyways, went over to her and I heard:
"You're not mum"
"If you don't tell him, I will." Phil whispered.
"Don't" I whispered.
"Dan" Phil said with a serious face.
"What?"
"Jesus christ I can't take this I need to leave the room, Phil go ahead, it's your choice" I swallowed. I was shaking, I was sweating. I left the room, and stood next to the door. I heard them speaking and then I heard silence. Then a huge "WHAT???".
