Kazuichi heard the sound of the front door opening, sitting himself up on the bed. He had assumed that Gundham would come in to see him, but soon realised that wasn't the case. So he slowly got up and made his way out, smiling ever so slightly as he saw Gundham in the dining room. He walked up behind him as if it were routine, draping his arms over his shoulders to hug him gently. "I'm...sorry..." he mumbled, letting out a quiet sigh. He moved to bury his head in the crook of his neck, leaving a light peck just above the turtleneck as he gently nuzzled into him. "I've just been really on edge these past few days..." he started. tightening his grasp on him. "I just miss her so much..." Kazuichi truly did enjoy their time together to some extent. Sure, a lot of the time he felt like shit and regretted his actions, but in all honesty, it was still probably better than simply being alone. He was grateful to have some support, even if it was from the person he least expected. Alas, it almost felt as if he was also using him as a rebound to stop feeling so terrible about Sonia. To get over his feelings for her or something. He just wanted to feel good again.
Gundham was tense. He really thought it was going to take longer for Kazuichi to do something like that. He didn't think he was still okay with touching him, and yet here he was initiating a hug. The breeder wasn't too sure if he should really accept it. He wanted to, but how much would it truly fix?
Kazuichi had noticed his reluctance when leaning back into him, which made him frown a little. It almost felt as if he had Gundham at his fingertips before, but he knew that having these moments would only push him further away. He couldn't have that; he needed him to stay with him after all.
"I know...it appears we all do." The breeder lifted one hand up to pet Kazuichi's head. He did appreciate receiving an apology, it meant wrongdoing had been recognised and that meant a lot to him. "But you don't need to be apologising. I shouldn't take things so personally. So I'm sorry for my actions and irritability. I do not wish to harm you..." Gundham sat there in the hug for a while. He felt rather special to have Kazuichi close to him like this, and now he was regretting that turtleneck. Now he wanted to feel his face against his skin. And this damn chair was between them and a full embrace - a time he wished the housing style wasn't so western.
Kazuichi nodded. He did have a point. It seemed like every little thing he did upset him. He supposed it made sense considering his strong feelings toward him, but even he didn't have such a reaction whenever Sonia was rude to him...actually quite the opposite half the time. Nevertheless, Gundham's apology did make him feel a little better. He didn't want to feel like he was only sucking up to him, and it made him feel like he was respected to some extent. That he wasn't just some object for him to display affection to, or receive pleasure from."Would you like some sushi or did you wish to wait for dinner? I don't mind either way, it will always be here for you to have whenever you want." As soon as Gundham offered, Kazuichi grinned widely, pulling back from the hug and quickly nodding his head.
"Hell yeah, I'm starvin'!" He replied with a small chuckle, taking a seat at the dining table close to Gundham. "Thank you!" he exclaimed, it coming out muffled due to his mouthful of food.
Gundham couldn't help but laugh at the enthusiasm, watching Kazuichi eat for a while before going back to his own food. "Of course, it's not an issue. I'm just glad you've decided to eat now considering the earlier meal was skipped." It wasn't terribly uncommon for either of them to miss it, Gundham knew that, but he did always make a bigger deal out of other people's health rather than his own. It made him happy to see someone so grateful for his efforts, and seeing Kazuichi smile again was always nice. Speaking of which, the breeder turned to one of the bags he'd brought home, reaching in to pull out a can which he placed in front of Kazuichi. "As requested. I wasn't sure which one you liked so I just went with the one I saw you with yesterday. Admittedly, these aren't something I indulge in, so I'm unsure of all the flavours..." He seemed to have been enjoying the drink for the time he'd actually seen him drinking it, so he could only assume it was one the mechanic liked.
Kazuichi's grin widened seeing the drink. Although he wasn't necessarily too picky on what flavour he had as long as it was sweet, this one was still his favourite, and it weirdly meant a lot to him that he picked up on such a small thing about him. "Thanks!" he hummed out, gripping onto the drink and opening it, taking a sip, before continuing to eat his sushi.
There was a soft smile on Gundham's face, glancing over at him every so often. He knew that this man truly was his beloved; feeling so warm after such a basic apology. A part of it was likely that Gundham very rarely received any form of 'sorry', and so when he did, it made him feel rather special. Truthfully, he understood Kazuichi's behaviour—he mustn't be used to being so nice to him—but if he could keep him happy to where it wouldn't matter if he was rude, and Gundham could learn to control his temper a bit more, he thought things could work out.
